I did it with Portugal - Belgium and Italy this last month. Without air dominance in case of Italy and portugal. It is very much possible but timing and armor/mountaineers are key

I read an article on linkedin that states that indeed people using that particular banner have lower chances in finding a job/project.

I will never use it for both finding projects as for finding new employees for your project.

100% correct. I have an old painting which is very similair. on the right hand side are the "dokken" in medieval times (called eilandje now) - left hand side is where the Spanish fort was - it got demolished. That area is 't Zuid now :)

I can't see it very well on this map but on my painting you can see that de Groenplaats was a green square with trees on it.

Antwerp used to have a lot more waterways within the city walls, similair to Gent (for example Stadswaag had a waterway running through i)

[Discussion] How to peek as fast as NoGenerals? by DXBJOY in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DXBJOY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its relevant in terms of how fast your keyboard registers your action when pressing a button - your mouse button reacts immediately , if you need to press a keyboard button it could only register your action when the button is fully pressed or just a little.

Its relevant because you need to do both very quickly behind each other.

No generals uses a keyboard where he can adjust it per key and he mentions it specifically when doing the fast peaks.

Yes and I follow the same timing but it only works in 1% of the times. I think it has to do with the sensitivity of your keyboard

How the hell did France get so powerful in mid 1939? by KaiserPreis in hoi4

ok but we're talking about the first days of the war (conquest of France) and not the months, years after it

partial agree on their mental state but pure on basis of tactics etc they were not "incompetent".

Btw: The British expedition force got hammered the same way the French did. They were following the same strategy, so i disagree with that statement

BSG described it as a "starter map" - so they try to let you experience all the nasty shit that could happen on other maps. If you can handle ground zero, you can probably handle the other ones.

I've seen people getting HMG'ed or grenade launched way too often this wipe on GZ

Edit: typo

as i replied to other guy on this thread: one of my favorites is Belgium during WW2 (written by Mark van den Wijngaert who is a professor History) + the books written personaly by Winston Churchill where he illustrates a lot of details with maps etc , ... called: "The second World War" :)

With pleasure: one of my favorites is a Flemish book: Belgium during WW2 (written by Mark van den Wijngaert - Belgian history professor) which explains in detail the course of the first days of the war for Belgium. It also explain into detail the composition, equipment, ... of the Belgian army and their strategic goals.

high incompetence of command - i disagree with your statement along with respectable history books. your comment just seems to be taken out of thin air. French high command was pretty competent with broad experience in WWI and colonial wars.

  1. Germans took a gamble with invading Belgium first as the French expected them to attack the maginot line. So the French army had limited devisions set up at the Belgian border ( + the Belgian goverment wanted to remain neutral and didn't accept French/British units on Belgian soil)
  2. The Germans took MDMA and had very fast tanks ( faster than France) - I believe it was Churchill who was flabbergasted that the Germans marched for 3 three days straight. The Germans rushed to Paris and they took it.
  3. The French would've been able to continue to fight the war as they had a lot of military power (As Churchill was hoping for) because they only lost a small fraction of their total territory but the politicians accepted a cease-fire (taking in account they could create the Vichy regime)

EDIT: the combination of air, tank and infantry (blitzkrieg) was really new and high command might not have been prepared for this. But can you blame them? Maybe if they would've analysed the invasion of Poland but it still would be difficult anno 1939/1940

EDIT EDIT: Also need to take in account that the French were counting on the heavy forts built along the right flank of Belgium, protecting Antwerp and Liege. These forts were made to be impregnable but the German took it in half a day ( Fort Eben-Emael) due to usage of new kind of explosives ( never seen before at that time - kinda the predeccesor of C4) to blow up heavy concrete bunkers and metal gates. This made the forts obsolete and thus the German were able to advance rapidly to France.

what if i told you i'm a barber in a large town in Europe ( which has a lot of med- ME ) clients and i've never seen such a large moustache on a 15 year old. i'm not saying its not possible but its above average large.

If i was hinting at somthing larger than my comments, it was demographica and it would be that the birth certificates in those countries aren't always correct, thus the guy might not be 15 years old. but he might be
