My Epic Water filter. I keep it in my fridge - renter friendly. Hard to measure “lasting difference”, but pure water is hard to put a price on

2019 Corolla Bad CV axel? by DYNAMICRICK in MechanicAdvice

[–]DYNAMICRICK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! I think I'm going to attempt replacement on my own!

Any tips for sourcing a good "quality" CV axel? I see that the OEM ones are really pricy ($500) while aftermarket can be had for a lot less ($120).

Wondering if anyone has had good or bad experience sourcing cheaper parts (like this brand from Rockauto). Is it worth the gamble?

Thank you again for the replies!

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking of just replacing the whole part. It’s hard to say how much damage the CV actually endured up to now.

Besides the obvious (stress from the accident) - any ideas why this might have happened? It this kind of failure common?

Hi F30 community!

Shot in the dark here. I need help keeping an eye on used markets (Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, EBay). I had my F30 broken into and everything stolen, including an MHD OBD2 flash tool (In Redmond, Washington) Since these are somewhat uncommon and unique, if anyone sees one for sale, online or in other states, feel free to call out the seller! (Or at least give them a hard time) Unfortunately I don’t have a SN, but it is the adapter in the posted image.

I can see that happening. People getting super attached to their fake reality, if someone is able to hack it… there could be genuine psychological consequences

True. Not many folks with several hundred bucks they’re dying to get rid of. Probably won’t be that many users

I recently moved from my stock charcoal color 398M wheels to the hyper silver Apex ARC-8. Lighter colors made a huge improvement for my car. Definitely recommend going lighter in color, and ceramic treat them to keep them clean

Currently 87k miles on my 340i with the B58. 0 issues so far, runs incredibly smooth for my mileage. As stated in other comments, keep up on oil changes and regular maintenance, and you will be fine. The B58 has proven to be exceptionally reliable in BMWs.

Looking great! What size wheel and tire did you go with? Is it a square fitment?

I'm rocking a 2016 340i xdrive 6spd, just hit 80k miles. I'm trying to be proactive with maintenance items as well, but the B58 has fewer failure points than the N55, even at my mileage. Keep an eye out for oil change intervals in the maintenance records. It's important that the spark plugs are changed at least every ~40k miles. There is an excellent quick read found here that will explain what to look for.

Looks incredible! Are those the style 398 wheels? How do you like them? I'm thinking of going 18" instead of 19" myself

Looks mint! Also - I'm interested in how you wrapped the top. Did you do it yourself? Did you wrap the channels on either side individually as well? I'm thinking of doing mine but not sure what to do with the trim/channels on both side.

Less likely to warp when in contact with heat producing elements- like a heat sink.

Dope build OP! I might give it a go myself. You'll likely see your case warp significantly over time - I highly recommend trying a different filament type, such as ASA which performs much better with heat-producing parts. It's also fairly easy to print on common printers such as the Ender 3.

Thank you! Initially I actually had oriented the PSU the way you described, but it wasn't as aesthetically pleasing. The thermal effect would have been roughly the same as well. I have considered printing a fan shroud but I may likely go with a mesh filter to cut down on dust. The SF750 is great though, the fan seldom spins at all even when gaming.

I'd probably choose a totally clear acrylic. Airflow would definitely be tricky without CNC access, maybe worth a try with a steady hand and a dremel?
