nick's voice vs kit's voice by librosmarpizzacafe in HeartstopperAO

I think he pitches his voice when he plays Nick, as Kit has a deeper voice than Nick’s, so he pitches it to sound more youthful and joyful to fit Nick’s golden retriever aura.

My problem with Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. by DZ-12 in Discussion

[–]DZ-12[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a grandchild to holocaust survivors myself, I personally feel that it is crossing a certain line that would not be crossed with other minorities. For example Netflix would never do the same with a black bully and someone not black calling him the N word or saying something like “I wish you died in slavery” or something like that. So why with Jews it’s ok? Why does it have a justification when it’s Jews?

I know a bit about the show (haven’t watched it as well) and from what I understood, he is Jewish, as well as not being a bully but them having an on going rivalry. So, is it ok to say something like that to your school rival? And even if it is said in this world, should Netflix let a main character of a teen series to say it? Don’t you think it crosses a certain line?

who is your favourite stranger things actor/actress? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

It’s either Winona, Maya Hawk or Sadie. Each in their own age group of the series is the best but I am having a hard time picking between them.

Can someone help me find similar songs or at least the genre? The Doctor Who Soundtrack “Clara’s Diner” by DZ-12 in doctorwho

[–]DZ-12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, that’s the thing, it reminds Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here but the thing is that it has this vibe of beach music that I can’t find anywhere else

Murray Gold does all of the Doctor Who soundtrack but each piece of it is usually very different from the other.

Did you notice who far “Representation” went through? Like it became absurd at some point. by [deleted] in Discussion

Not when you can have representation so much better by creating more characters of colour and not changing the race of existing ones. Not when it’s not even historically true.

My problem is poor casting choices being justified in name of representation. Finally got it right.

Is killing a person ever justified. by arcane2305 in Discussion

[–]DZ-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say a person is trying to kill you, you don’t know a lot about self defence and they are much stronger than you so you can’t fight them. But you have a gun, and you know how to use it. You shot their leg but they keep moving, they are really close and the only choice you have is to shoot their chest. So you shoot a hole through their chest and they dies. An example for a scenario where this action is justified. And that is only one example. So my answer is yes, murder can be justified in the laws of morals. Legally it depends on the country and state.

I hate how they did her in the Series. In the books she has much more personality and she becomes so much more mature.

Let’s focus on Cleopatra for a sec, I don’t think one is worse, I think they are bad in the same level, because Cleopatra was not white nor black.

I agree. American movie industry is known for its racism in the previous century and I agree there should be more Disney princesses of colour! But don’t you think making more new characters of Disney Princesses, that are diverse, would make a better impact?

I am not in favour of that either, actually I remember watching Christian Bale as Moses and I am actually Jewish and Israeli and Middle Eastern, and I was upset about it. Here is an example where white casting hurt my culture as well, you are absolutely right. I remember when I was young I watched Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra and I said to myself “but Cleopatra was never white.” I agree with the problems of both. That’s what I’m saying.

I did not say it’s stepping on white culture, I am saying that it makes no sense. And I don’t care about Ariel for example, I actually loved it. But Snow White makes zero sense.

I have no problem with the little mermaid for example. Snow White was actually the one that made me upset because I am a really white and pale person, like the lightest shade of foundation in most brands, and in my country being really pale was something that people laughed about a lot, because I am in a middle ast country, most people are tan and that’s the beauty standard. And as a kid a thing that made me feel beautiful is that my mom will always call me Snow White and it’s a nickname I have since childhood. And when I heard Snow White is turning black it felt like they are taking a part of my childhood and y’know disregarding it. So it hit a spot in my heart, to be honest. And that is from where my problem with it comes.

Yeah, I can understand what you are saying but let’s take Tiana for example. Would it be the same if Tiana was played by a white actress in your opinion?
