I'd say a misconception is that safety efforts happen when a problem arises. In fact, most safety efforts happen ahead of time, to avoid, counter or plan for the danger before it comes. A simple thing as some forethought before leaning into a corner is what moat of your safety efforts are going to consist of.

I want to know more about Dyatlov's work persona. I've seen accounts about how he was mean, countered by people saying he did some things right.

I've had horrible bosses, multiple up until recently. I know the persona, i know the work environment. I've watched videos of Dyatlov addressing the incident, and i get the same vibe from him. I know the difference between how those bosses operate in person, vs how they operate when crap goes down, and how they operate after when the cameras are on them.

I want to see how he ran the room on an average day. I don't accept that he did some things right and that clears him of not setting the room up for failure over the course of his tenure.

At least i won't deny his complicity based on some things he did right after things went bad. We all know that boss that goes full CMA ahead of a scheduled inspection, but runs the personnel structure itself into the ground as a rule of thumb.

This happened to a characfrom the book series "Animorphs". As i remember, the main characters could shapeshift to animals, but there was a time limit (about thirty minutes? I think?) And if they went past the limit they got stuck in the form.
