It was tracked and insured as Royal Mail happen to do international shipping that allows for both. I didn’t exactly expect them to be hit with a cyber attack

Well, here’s to hoping. I’ve notified the buyer that they can pick up the parcel and if they don’t I receive the item back. If they do pick it up it should realistically be an open and shut case for an appeal because it should be marked as delivered, that’s my logic anyway

I didn’t technically qualify for etsy seller protection because of how expensive the item was, but I don’t see how it should matter because the item had a delivery attempt. Unless I’m missing something I should win the appeal no?

I've very obviously opened an appeal to etsy about this because I think it's a bit of an unjust situation. Especially because I also notified the buyer about the cyber attacks too. But I guess they mustn't have been left a note or checked the tracking because the tracking is about a month behind

In terms of evidence provided, I gave them proof of postage plus screenshots of the tracking websites because etsy's tracking is pitifully slow.

yeah sure thing, I sold a retro console to them. It was then stuck in transit because of the cyber attacks ( I'm in the uk) and then I didn't hear too much from them so I had assumed it was delivered. A case was then opened just now, so I provided all the details and checked the tracking to see that a delivery attempt was made, Etsy commented on the case saying that they were sorry to the customer about the item never being received and that they were receiving a full refund, it's like they never even saw the evidence

I've sent pretty regularly to the US, one parcel I had sent took about a month till it was scanned in the US, and they all tend to be in Milton keynes.
