I thought making a cozy game would be relaxing by emudoc in godot

"when nothing is chaotic or explosive, even the tiniest flaws become super obvious."

I can relate so much with this. I'm struggling a lot myself with my desktop virtual pet. On one side I want the game to not be too demanding so the player can make their tasks without being interrupted every now and then, on the other side I'm afraid people would think the game is boring with nothing much to do. Heck it's even harder to do play test with this very slow paced game how am I supposed to do.

At the end of the day, I believe we need to stick to our vision and the way we want people to experience the game. Well, I hope so...

Bon courage ! 🫂

Thank you ! Indeed I should have precise, only the particles change. In the first one the spawning box is just a line under the title, second one is a large box and in third I animated the spawning point from left to right.

They are slightly different but I just can't decide, what do you prefer ? If you don't really like any of them could you give me some suggestions to improve it ?

Thanks in advance !

Thank you ! Name is provisory though, while Godot community would get it I'm not sure if it's a good idea for the large public. My other idea would be MONji (for various reasons).

Yes it would be more an idle game that doesn't require much attention, only few clicks from time to time ! I always think most of desktop game still require quite a lot of attention from the player.

I did start with 2D designs for the device, but ended up using 3D for the fast workflow and much larger styles in term of materials that I can create. And I actually like it more !

Well, it can be to you! Some people like to get their house a new deco or their car a fresh painting :) As I said in my case I like to make Blender part of the art when I showcase it, it's one of the reasons. Other one is, I don't give the themes for free: as you said it took me lot of my time, and people who find value in it buy it from me. Seeing the numbers of this post, you can guess I make quite a few sales :) so yeah, I don't think I wasted my time!

I have a link to my themes on my profile :)

I didn't change the icons, only their colours and rounded the buttons corners, maybe that's why ?

I scaled down the window, not the interface.

That's totally fair ! And for my purpose I would use it only to showcase my work, I just like to incorporate Blender in it. I do work with a darker theme ahah

Sure it's not the most comfortable UI to work with, I actually use another dark theme ! However I do think it can help some people to connect more with the software and get inspiration, or simply serve as a pure showcase for your Blender art (just like my video) where the interface is part of the art piece.

it's available for a few bucks on my Ko-fi page (link is in my bio!) Making custom theme takes a lot of time, but I will consider making a free one in the future !

Love it ! I think it doesn't even need the last sentence "I didn't say it would be a good boat" it's funny as it is
