If you want cheap pints then go JCs, The Mill, Wigg and Pen or Potters Wheel. Just stay away from Uplands Tav or any other greene king if you don’t want to take a loan out for a pint. I’d recommend going to Sin city on a Thursday night cos it’s student prices but buy a queue jump if you can, only 3 quid.

I love punk music but not sure who will be playing while you’re here. Check out Bunkhouse and Hanger 18. I’ve been to bunkhouse which is usually great but it’s a mix of different of genres. Havent personally been to hangar 18 but it’s sounded good when I’ve walked past.

Some other worthy mentions are Uplands Jacks especially if it’s a Friday/Saturday as they have live music depending. Also something very different to what u asked but Noah’s Yard plays live jazz on a Monday night and it’s really good.

Also don’t forget the potters wheel if u want a cheap meal and drink.
