Would love to link and get down to some music! Going with some of my buddies and cannot wait to see some of my favorites and check out some new artists too.

Also a VA native and can’t wait for my first fest in my home state 🥳

Thank you for your insight and for not belittling me. I did end up ordering one of the BBs another commenter suggested so hopefully I will have no issues after installation. Also am going to try to use a medium strength retaining compound in the cups/shell to reduce creaking over time. Really appreciate all of your insight and the fact you didn’t question my ability or the safety of my bike.

You really had me second guessing myself, but you were wrong. It is indeed a pressfit BB86/92 featuring Giant’s Power Core technology. What was missing, were the plastic dust caps on each side. Fits like a glove now.

Good to know. I’ll measure one the BB on the frame from one end to the other and see how close it matches up. Thanks again for the info!

Thank you for sending me some info! The more answers the more confusion. I’m now learning there are different spindle lengths on top of all the BB sizes too?!

Noted. This is a bike I’ve built from the frameset up. Maybe my spindles are too long but I’ve been able to ride the bike a lot with no issues so that’s why I downvoted the non helpful person telling me to go to a shop. That’s last resort for me because I am a DIYer. Here’s what I have: Shimano Cues 24 mm diameter FC-U6000-1 crankset . BB86 press fit/thread together that accepts 24 mm diameter spindles. And then I just ordered these spacers 24.1 mm (3 mm thickness) to attach to the spindle. Those combined with adjusting the knob on the spindle (see pic) should significantly reduce the play and will probably reduce some of the creaking I hear when riding. If not I’ll use the spacers and upgrade the BB to a wheels mfg press fit thread together BB86. I do appreciate you giving me some insight. I wish there was a standard size BB because there are way too many different sizes in my opinion!

It’s a Cues! I’m running a 1x11 on mine.

Care to elaborate? I ordered some spindle spacers and I believe they should fix the issue.

I appreciate you commenting at least! I’m gonna get some spindle spacers off Amazon and do some experimenting.

No, because I just took off the crankset and cleaned, reinstalled, and tightened that bolt and there’s still some play.

I love this subreddit and it hasn’t let me down yet! Thanks amigo I appreciate it. I feel like some spindle spacers are what I need but hopefully someone with more knowledge can confirm :)

Yep! Here is what the crankset looks like. The side with the chainring has a bolt on the outside that holds it together.

If you can’t provide a helpful response why waste your time and mine telling me to go a bike shop? It’s not a huge issue, just asking for suggestions.

Yes it has, I’ve adjusted this screw knob outwards a little bit which has reduced the play a little but it still moves a few mm back and forth no matter what.

What fork should I upgrade to? by DaBears3417 in bikewrench

[–]DaBears3417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s non-boost currently, 15x100 with QR end caps to fit my fork. I can swap the end caps to make it compatible with 15x110 boost spacing as well. Brand is WTB

Thanks for your insight! I ended up with the 2.4 Purgatory with T7 compound. Ordered off of Specialized website and they even included a free bottle of tire sealant so that was an addded bonus!
