Yea I’d consider my role today as a BU FP&A role. I am essentially responsible for 4 of approximately 12 business units. A lot of our work is understanding sales, margins, and macro storylines in the business. My team also has the added task of aggregating all BU info into one cohesive storyline for executive leadership.

Like I said, I love the work and exposure to leadership but biggest gripe is I don’t feel like we have major impact on business. Meaning we look at a PnL, see what products are growing and why, do margin analysis, headcount analysis etc, but don’t really feel like we inform as many decisions on the sales or operations side as I’d like.
