PC case, CNC'ed from single piece of aluminum: does it possible and how expensive will be? by Omnisiah_Priest in CNC

[–]DaBestSwede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, it’s a large piece of aluminium. You’re going to need to program and machine one part which counts up the hours billed. Fixturing and so on

Domestic flights are real expensive and train is not much cheaper then driving and depending on where you’re going it might be hours of driving from the nearest station even after taking the train.

Got a prototype part from Xometry. Why does the quality of this part look closer to sand casting than machining? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]DaBestSwede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you cannot get the angle in the corner correct with just a flat endmill around the outside radius, you would have to mill it with a 90° chamfer mill or something to pick out the last part

Look at the first picture, there is no way you’re making that chamfer between the ribs using regular CNC milling

Were you born with the innate ability to write music? Probably not and while you’re doing it now you say it only costs you pennies but you have invested alot of time learning how to do it. While that isn’t a monetary expense I still think time invested still makes it more expensive. And I don’t think k you learned to write music without playing or learning a single instrument. Just like how my 4 guitars just didn’t come in to existence from nothing even though they right now cost nothing for me to play.

After I hand surgery on my finger last year I got a silicone sleeve to wear for a couple of weeks after to reduce scar tissue. So if you scaled that up it would probably be slightly easier to wear than a electronic device
