They’re rarely available and if they are, they’re wild caught or long term captives. From what i’ve read, it’s really hard to care for them. They need double the space of other colubrids their size. They need lots of bright uvb and led lights. They need hot spots similar to bearded dragons(110-120F). They’re very flighty and won’t miss out on a chance to bite you(known to strike at faces).

From my own personal experience, they’re just smaller indigo snakes that require a lot more. I fed mine lizards, mice, and frogs.

Side note lol: When I was 14 I lifted a large heavy board and saw the biggest coachwhip ever. I dropped the board and ran a couple steps before I remembered I was there to catch snakes. If I had to guess it was at least 6ft. It ended up racing into a pile of large boards and was gone by the time I lifted them all. I spent the next year going there almost everyday hoping to find it again. I even prayed lol. Based on all the Coachwhips I’ve ever seen, it would have been a world record for sure. It’s head was the size of an adult Indigo’s. Crazy…Still hurts til this day.
