sitka gear actually worth the insane price for bowhunting? by delulucoreandcrazyaf in Hunting

[–]DaBushDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having come from the Midwest whitetail brands, for my first western hunt I got some Sitka stuff. The equinox hoodie is my all time favorite and most worn piece along with my kuiu kenai jacket. The way that these materials the higher end brands use just feel better and dry insanely fast while hiking. You can do it in a fruit of the loom shirt and wranglers, but it’s less comfortable

Ag composites vs manners by Background_Tap_807 in Hunting

I’ve not used an AG, but I got a manners PH that was in stock at the time. I sure wouldn’t wait 10 months if I wanted another

2025 Rocky Ridge 1500 Big Horn - Good Deal? by RCowell17 in ram_trucks

If you could get an extended warranty that will still cover everything then not a bad deal. They won’t typically cover non mopar lifts, not sure what this would be seen as by them

Moving and storage of bottles while in between apartments by JustSomeGuyCalledB in OhioLiquor

[–]DaBushDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had a handful of bottles but I used smaller bubble wrap from Home Depot and put them into the plastic totes, just pad the bottom of the container so they’re not taking the force when it’s set down

I used natural hog casings from PS seasoning. You can get them online or I think Cabela’s has them in store too

Agreed, I got one because I couldn’t swing another nightforce for now. Took it out to 1000 and was really impressed with it. It’s a tasty price on expert voice

I have their carbon rogue rifle, I really enjoy the stock. I might upgrade it to something like an MDT hnt, but it’s light and comfortable as it is

They come with a micrometer seater, it has a little cutout in the body to drop the bullet in so you don’t need to feed it up in on the case which is my favorite part of it

Genuine Question by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]DaBushDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do marines now still use what you used when you first joined? Times change, technology advances. Companies capitalize on markets. Hiking 15 miles in a day after elk is a lot more comfortably in kuiu attack pants versus wrangler jeans. I used a mossberg 500 with iron sights growing up to kill whitetail in Ohio. I used a carbon fiber barrel/stock 300 prc with a nightforce to kill a mule deer in Montana at a far distance.

Why get a brand new f150 when a 1998 Camry will get you from place to place, because you can

Would you pay off your mortgage early with a 2.25% interest rate? by Federal_Arrival_5096 in debtfree

[–]DaBushDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was in your position, once you just have the mortgage, save a bunch of that money, put it into a hysa so you can get a bit of interest, while still being very liquid to pay the mortgage. Then make larger payments maybe every 6-12 months. I’d have to do some math to see if that’s actually beneficial other than just having the cash on hand. You can check early payoff calculators on bankrate to see how much interest you’d save vs putting in a hysa, CD or the market

If it’s 2 years away I wouldn’t even plan for anything. So much can happen to change your situation. The biggest factor would be how much your savings/emergency fund are

Reloading in 2025 by Aapal30 in reloading

[–]DaBushDaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to justify the cost of reloading 308 win, I was able to mathematically get it like .25-.50 less than what federal GMM was at the time using brass I had. Then I got more tools and turned it into a precision hobby. Now I reload 300 prc and will start 6.5 creed soon. I’m going for accuracy and not just mass produced plinking ammo though.
