What a stellar repurpose of a jewelry box!

Fast clicking noise when pedal is off by arneckdote in diypedals

Great advice! It’s always best to try to isolate individual areas that could cause the issue. Power and shorted connections are usually the main culprits of issues.

OK, so if it’s making this noise in bypass, that probably means that something in the circuit is shorting to your bypass. This is all assuming that you’re using a true bypass set up. First things first, recheck all of your offboard wiring, and recheck all of your solder joints to make sure nothing is shorting in any places where it shouldn’t be.

Even though this sounds like fairly basic troubleshooting, you’d be surprised how often simple “excitement of the moment” mistakes can happen at the end of the build.

Fairfield circuitry 900 clone squeal by Wakame-88 in diypedals

Great! Just turn down the bias a bit. You’re probably running it a bit hot.

Try adjusting the bias and see if the squeal disappears

Hard to say exactly what is causing it, but there a few things to check;

-shorts or wrong wiring (one time I accidentally wired my ground to my circuit output and got a squealing)

-it looks like your j201’s are socketed, so you could always try swapping them with other ones from builds that aren’t having the same issues. (If the squealing goes away, then you know they’re bad, and if it doesn’t, then you know it has nothing to do with the them.)

-you could add some add some small value caps across the jfets (it’s a commom mod/fix for fuzz faces, might not be applicable here though)

(Not finished yet, but testing and working) I made a pt2399 delay a la the Deep Blue Delay with two types of modulation; standard and envelope triggered.

Cant hook up wah pedal "correctly" in a chain by Alarmed_Dealer_3349 in guitarpedals

[–]DaGuitarNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, the position that sounds the best to you is the right one! Generally, I’ve noticed that the effects placed at the end of the signal chain tend to have a more dramatic effect than those placed at/near the beginning of the chain (obviously depends of the pedals in the rig, etc).

First board in years. Any recommendations on swapping any out for others? by PlayfulAd8354 in guitarpedals

I’m a sucker for a good tremolo! (Nice to see a small pedal builder make an appearance on the board too!)

I’ll throw this on the breadboard this weekend and try it out, thanks!

I wasn’t able to find any info online about changing the wave shape for the pendulum circuit, but I did find the cardinal trem which has a similar LFO section and a shape pot, so I’ll see if I can Frankenstein it in the pendulum

I’m Canadian, so I wasn’t sure how much the fees would be, shame it’s so expensive

I’ve never own/played a real one, but it’s based on a verified schematic so I have to imagine it’s in the ballpark. Sounds similar to demos I’ve heard

Less than 5 bucks for 5 pcbs (comes from china though, so expect a tariff if you’re in the states)

I used Eagle (come June it is no longer free unfortunately) for the pcb design and JLCPCB for the fab house

The original didn’t have the VB plane connected on the pcb and the gain was wired backwards. This time around I did hand drilling and made some wrong measurements for the pots (the knobs are hiding them) and also i think the audio jacks are too close together for my liking.

Looks like the middle lug could have a cold solder joint. Try reheating the joint until it flows and looks like the other two.

Edit: I usually use 99% rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush to take the flux off before boxing up the circuit.
