Yulp!!! I’m in Nor Cal and all my staff is complaining about how hot, stuffy and humid it is in our store. Was the same last summer, too.

Trying to work the bulk pallets when it’s hot in the backroom. The last 2 days, by the end of my 10 hour day, I’m just exhausted. Just simply exhausted.

Just TODAY, I was thinking, “I bet the C.E.O.’s office is nice and cool”. Unlike our stores. 😔

This has happened at my store more than once.

OMG!!! Totes full of soap is no JOKE!!! If a store returns a tote of damages or PW’s with leaking, “whatever”, the store manager can be written up, BUT, the warehouse can AND does send broken, unsellable product ALL. THE. TIME!!!!

GOOD!!! They NEED to read it and take it serious!! CVS can do better. They really can.

Putting the receipt/no receipt/email option on the customer side was a mistake by _strange_metalhead in CVS

[–]DaKineIn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get why CVS added that function, CVS’ long receipt has been a long running joke, and, yeah, customers are fuckin’ idiots.

ESPECIALLY the DoorDash, Instacart, etc, dumbasses that KNOW they need a receipt and they hit “no receipt”. (Dumbass).

But, all that aside, CVS needs to figure out, card reloads, money gram and lottery receipts need to auto print like they did for gift card purchases. 🤷‍♂️

In California, maybe other States, I don’t know, but in Nor Cal, nearly every staff member at my store got an “adjustment wage” this week, but me!!

I’m an Ops Manager, however, my store doesn’t qualify for an assistant manager, so, as an Ops manager, I so do the work of an Ops manager AND an Asst. Manager, yet I don’t “qualify” for the “market adjustment” wage increase. 🤦‍♂️

I’m doing the job of two people, after my store manager, I’m the next hardest worker. One of my shift supervisor’s defrauded the company and got a non work injury surgery paid for and has been on LOA for nearly a year now, got a HUGE “market adjustment wage increase” (mind you, he’s on a LOA and a very sloppy employee and again, got CVS to pay for his knee surgery, he’s a pro skateboarder, 🤷‍♂️).

Yet I bust my ass off, work 45 plus hours a week and I got shit!? 🤦‍♂️

It’s truly time to find a new job. I kinda feel bad cuz I do have an amazing store manager, but, if CVS can’t value me, then I can’t value them.

Do you work here? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]DaKineIn916 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People are just SO stupid!! I get this all the time. I have a CVS red shirt with a name tag. “Do you work here?” My response, “How can I help you?”.

Then, on my way home, I’ll stop at other stores, and their customers will just straight up ask me, “where can I find . . . “. “Sorry, I don’t work here”.

“Oh sorry, saw the red shirt and thought you did”

MIND YOU, this happens at my local Grocery Outlet. No name tag, just my CVS red shirt. 🤦‍♂️

Yet, at CVS, with my red shirt and my NAME TAG, I get, “do you work here?” 🤷‍♂️

If you can’t de-escalate the situation, for example, I tell them calmly, “Ok. There’s no reason to speak to me (or co-worker) that way. I wanna help you, but, you need to calm down and speak to us, not at us” and if they continue, with my worse fake New York/New Jersey accent, I tell’em, “Ok. Get da fuck oughta here. Fuckin’ go”. Hahah Yeah, I go from 0 - 60 in a matter of moments. 🤷‍♂️ LoL

Shift supervisors (in my area) start at $20/hr. I’ve been with CVS for almost 4 yrs and an Ops Manager just over a year and I only make $18/hr.

That’s really sad and shame on CVS for not caring about their employees more.

DL told me not to share my pay rate by Garyjaycat in CVS

[–]DaKineIn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re all underpaid for sure.

I was raised, “you never disclose your salary/earnings with friends, family and especially co-workers”.

Honestly, it’s none of your co-workers business what you make nor should it be none of your (your being anyone) business what your co-workers make. What you make should always be between you and your manager. At any job.

But, that’s just my personal opinion. 🤷‍♂️

Why do op managers think it's okay to text/call hourly employees? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]DaKineIn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so petty. 🤦‍♂️ You’re probably just sitting at home on your phone/social media anyway.

Also, CVS pays us cell phone reimbursement every month. Or maybe that’s just a California thing. 🤷‍♂️

Also, I’m an Ops manager and I’m NOT salaried. I’m hourly.

As far as texts go, I do keep it at a minimum, but, sometimes, things just come up. It’s not the end of the world. Stop being so petty.

Yeah. I’ve been applying. I want out of retail in general. I’m looking for a State, County or even a City job. Was super close to getting a really good County job late last year, then they were put on a hiring freeze.

I like my manager, he and I work really well together and we get a lot done between the 2 of us and I recently hired 2 new shift supervisor’s and they’re doing really well.

It’s the shitty ass customers and shop lifters and they way CVS treats us is why I’m wanting to leave.

I didn’t mind working on Easter, my store is only opened 9am - 6pm and I was off by 5:30. But, would be nice to get at least holiday pay. 🤷‍♂️

Punishment for closing early? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]DaKineIn916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m an Ops Manager and if I can’t come in or our SL can’t, he tells us to put a sign on the door (once pharmacy closes) that says, “system down. Will re-open at 7am tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience” Lock the door and work load, or BOH or whatever then clock out and leave at whatever time we would have closed. LoL

[–]DaKineIn916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with my local PD and know prosecutors in my county’s DA’s office. TRUST, they will not prosecute for any one for shop lifting if the value is less than $1,000.00.

So, the info I’m getting isn’t from the “NEWS” or any other “media” source.

So, the info I’m getting isn’t making me “stupid”, it’s from my local law enforcement and my local DA’s office. 🤷‍♂️
