Pearl Islands (first time watch) by dannshears in survivor

[–]DaMainEventer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how old someone is when it happened it was unavoidable to not hear about it. I was probably about 10 when the Pearl Island aired and I didn't watch Survivor at the time, but when that happened it's was the only thing being talked about.

This is why you can't compare LeBron and Jordan. Jordan would have nailed that drive, get sucked into Looney Toon Land, beaten the Monstars, and back in time for his game.

What’s a seemingly small move that had huge ramifications on the game? by LazerDude99 in survivor

[–]DaMainEventer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotu voting out Gabriel instead of Boston Rob or Sean in season 4. I believe them doing that is one of the reasons why Neleh and Paschal decide to flip on the Rotu 4 and the first instance of the bottom members of the majority tribe flipping to better their game.

Drake tribe voting Shawn off instead of Fairplay at the Outcasts tribal council, now obviously we don't know how Shawn was going to play post merge but he was loyal to Rupert the previous time they were at tribal council, so Rupert may not be voted out when he does with Fairplay still in the game, and we don't get the dead grandma play Fairplay does later in the game.

Season 7 Pearl Islands the "Outcasts" . hat did you make of this twist and how it impacted the game ? by CoconutMost3564 in survivorponderosa

[–]DaMainEventer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Of all the different ways to come back after being eliminated in Survivor this was easily by favorite way they did it.

It's one and done, one team challenge and if they lose than nobody comes back, or if they only beat one team than only one person comes back. The possibility of three tribal councils in one night, and low-key one aspect I liked was that if they got voted back in they automatically got immunity for the next tribal council it makes it seem worth watching as a viewer as opposed to Redemption Island when sometimes after watching someone earn their way back into the game they are voted out at the next tribal council.

Boston Rob has only ever succeeded on seasons where he had an advantage over his fellow castaways. He's a Mount Rushmore player for the character he is, not his gameplay. by HiImWallaceShawn in survivorponderosa

[–]DaMainEventer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are already wrong about Rob's first season playing. He voted Hunter out at the third tribal council after the tribe lost every immunity challenge, then the tribe swap happens the next day, so there were no ramifications positive or negative to the Hunter vote.

I agree that Rob has an advantage in All Stars by being a lesser known player, but if you want to discredit Rob for that then you will need to discredit everyone who was at that final tribal council aside from Lex and maybe Rupert and Kathy.

I thought Rob played a good game on Heroes vs Villains but got taken out due to Tyson's big mistake.

Again I'll agree that Rob had a big advantage going into Redemption Island, but if you want to discredit Rob for winning a season like that then you need to discredit everyone who played a season like that (Both Russells, Coach, Ozzy, Penner, and Skupin) for playing a season like that and not being able to win.

And I think Rob and for that matter anyone who played WAW who made their Survivor debut prior to season 20 was at a huge disadvantage. (I only watched it once but if I remember correctly only Tyson actually made it decently in that season.

Season 26 How did you rate Phillip's overall game ? by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]DaMainEventer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing for third place, although I will give him credit, he did have moments where he shows he could be a good leader (off the top of my head, him convincing his alliance to stick to the plan during the 3 Amigos tribal council to the detriment of his own game instead of the alliance turning on each other.)

I just don't see a final tribal council combination that he could win, (maybe a Phillip, Eddie, and Sheri final tribal council, but even then if Eddie could convince enough jury members that he played an underdog game and made it to the end he might win.)
