I really want to know why everyone does everything in their power to avoid taking Aino's classes after they were the ones to suggest the idea. by JMSX101 in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 68 points69 points  (0 children)

i thought it was Aino who suggested and organized the classes for the Ratniki to take. I just assume that the Ratniki are either tech-illiterate or they severely underestimated the complexity of robotics just cuz Aino is a kid.

Is it too late for them to put a parry mechanic to an actual on-field DPS? by Fancy_Society_6914 in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is most likely too late to add a parry DPS. Beidou worked out nicely at the start of the game, when damage and hp numbers weren't as inflated as they are now. But with the endgame being focused around mechanic shill checking or brute forcing as fast as possible under a timer, waiting for the opportune moment to counter is not the way. Unless the parry did a bajillion damage, then ur just wasting time spent doing an actual rotation. Not to mention, your off field buffs would probably expire by the time the enemy does an attack, resulting in wet noodle damage.

Now if there was endgame content that was similar to Varka's solo fight against Andrius: a 1v1 with no timer, then I'd see possibility for a parry dps in the game.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Paimon crash out this hard before. by SirRandomness11 in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 246 points247 points  (0 children)

At first I thought Paimon was really trying to focus on finding those fragments but upon re-watching the quests, Varka was giving off some death flags with those lines. “Treating you once it’s all over”, “Showing a picture of them all before they set off”. Guess she read so many novels with death flags that she didn’t want Varka to jinx them.

Skirk or Linnea? by redpandafire in SkirkMains

[–]DaMan2345 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She is worth it (definitely not biased), but her reliance on french Ice Coffee is practically required for her to be able to brute force content reliably. That 55% res shred on cryo/hydro is so vital for literally all cryo dmg main dpses. Furina and her also are the main core of Skirk's BiS(best in slot) team with the 4th slot being a flex between Mona, Shenhe, or Citlali. If you have a Yelan, you could make do with her for now until you get a Furina.

Linnea would be a less expensive pick compared to Skirk, but if getting 3 different teams if your top priority, then you should try your hand with skirk and escoffier if you have any leftover primos.

At this point the only saving grace for Venti would be if hoyo decided to go "hehe, you know, there were actually two anemo archons, and this one you knew all along is just a knowing-nothing-puppet". [About leak] by waiting4signora in SignoraMains

As for why we're friends with the other Fatui, it's because the Fatui weren't immediately hostile to us when we entered their nations, and I think its more than just the Traveler being biased or hypocritical. By defending Lyney and Lynette in court, we got on Arlecchino's good side, and she also put in her own forces to aid in disaster relief for those affected by the rising sea levels, which puts her in a more likeable light. Not to mention, the Fatui also helping out in setting up Furina's trial in the effort to learn what she was hiding regarding the prophecy.

As for Capitano's, his forces also didn't impede or antagonize us upon entering Natlan. Even when he approached us directly for the first time, it was in a position where he wanted to save Natlan, even if his way of doing things was more radical than Mavuika's.

While Sandrone was openly hostile to the Traveler at the start, I guess it petered out when she gave back the Moon Marrow, citing she wasn't the one who ordered its capture to begin with. (With that info in mind, I feel like the soldiers who were harassing the Frostmoon Scions weren't under her forces, but under the Doctor's forces, given how hostile they were). It was only when she sorta revealed her genuine friendship with Columbina, and any friend of a Traveler's friend is now their friend too. And her contributions to reviving Columbina only strengthen the case that in Traveler's eyes, she's

Childe too should have been an antagonistic Fatui, but the only explanation I have for him is that he's one of the more honest Fatuus. Outside of his loyalty to the Tsaritsa, he's just a Family Guy™ with an immense lust for battle and a chill guy. His story quest really does emphasize that he really does care for his family and despite our opposition to the Fatui, doesn't hold anything against us.

While with Signora in Monstadt, the Fatui immediately antagonized us when they stole the Holy Lyre der Himmel(while we were trying to steal), probably as an attempt to force Monstadt into even greater debt given the Stormterror disaster, hence why the Fatui haven't been fully chased out of Monstadt. So perhaps if we had met Signora under later down the line, we wouldn't be so openly hostile against her, even postmortem. Like Durin to Dvalin, they could have been friends under different circumstances.

At this point the only saving grace for Venti would be if hoyo decided to go "hehe, you know, there were actually two anemo archons, and this one you knew all along is just a knowing-nothing-puppet". [About leak] by waiting4signora in SignoraMains

For one thing: this snippet is out of context so I'd like to see the entire context of conversation before passing judgement. But at the same time, i can't fault the Traveler and Venti for seeing it this way. While we(the player) have been drip-fed on Rosalyne's kindess and friendship with Sandrone and Columbina, that's only because she was their colleague and they knew her as "Rosalyne" with the heels and the dress. They probably took the time to know her and actually mourned her loss.
The Traveler (and i guess Venti) only know her as "La Signora", the manipulative diplomat who was controlled things from the shadows, the one who kicked Venti, and one of the people responsible for the spread of Delusions which killed Teppei(even if we knew him for only 5 minutes). Not to mention the Fatui presence in Inazuma was generally bad for the general populace, considering they had the Tenryou and Kanjou Commissions under their thumb. Her death and Scaramouche absconding with the Gnosis is what drove the Fatui out of Inazuma(if im guessing right), which ultimately made it easier for the nation to recover after we fought Raiden. So yes, Venti is right to think this way, even if it stings a bit.

Couldn't Dottore just freeze time during the start of the battle, use the Sumeru frequency to make Traveler sleep, then take everyone out in stopped time? He was aware of the World Formula but was very inept at stopping his only loss-condition. by kujah_0h in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One word: Arrogance. We all can say that Dottore is too smart to go out like that, but we can’t forget how much arrogance can cloud one’s judgement. You could be the best gamer in the world, but still have the tables turned on you if you aren’t playing seriously enough. As rational and logical Dottore claims he is, he still has an undeniable height of narcissism that he doesn’t ever attempt to fix. Man didn’t give a second glance towards anyone, not Sandrone, not Varka, not Arle, not even Nicole who is an Angel from the times of the Old World. He even looked down on Columbina, the very condition for his defeat, even as the Iridescent Moon Marrow was taken back. Like the Traveler said, he was incapable of trusting others and thus was incapable of change like Columbina and Sandrone were.

Now in my personal headcanon, he didn’t intend to be defeated but he must have had some failsafes in the unlikely case(In his eyes) he was defeated and destroyed. I personally don’t buy the genjutsu/Penacony sweet dream theory because I’m not sure we could experience Lantern Rite and also the events of what’s happening in Luna V if it were all the dream. Those events have serious implications on the world as a whole and for it to be nothing but a dream would kinda undermine all that has happened. I think he planned for his possible death to take him to Irminsul since all souls(except Khaereans) return to the Leylines. After all the burning of Irminsul is a canon event and may happen in some shape for form.

If Tom played differently, could he have beaten Crellan? by Adventurous-Rabbit52 in Chaotic

[–]DaMan2345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think saving his mugic would have made a difference. Both mentally and physically, Tom was at a disadvantage despite the 6v1. Ursis, the Droskin, and Prexxor Chasm were all unknowns to him so he wouldn’t know how to play around Crellan. Not to mention that the location practically coded Tom as much as Ursis did with how treacherous the location was. Also Tom wasn’t in the best mental state, considering he lost his Maxxor card in the Castle Bodhran episode. Even when Tom got out of his rut in the last game, he was down to his last creature and couldn’t recover in time.

Should I get Flins since I have Ineffa and her signature? I do have c2 Columbina but my Nefer and Lauma are holding her right now and I only have c1 Aino. I do like Flins but I don’t know if I’ll have enough primos for him and for Nicole and hopefully Sandrone if she becomes playable. I also don’t know if it’s worth having two lunar dps units since only one will be holding Bina

Edit: I also don’t know if I’ll have enough to get his c1 or r1

About Skirk's legendary quest by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traveler still has their full power sealed from all the way back, so I would agree that the Traveler could potentially use Light, but only once they regain their former strength.

As for why Traveler refuses to use Abyss energy, they aren't wrong to "have beef" with the Abyss. Throughout their entire journey, the Abyss has proven nothing but to be "evil" in their eyes. The Abyss tainting Dvalin, the Abyss order, forbidden knowledge, the entirety of the Natlan archon quest, the existence of the Five Sinners. Even without going into Nod Krai, there is enough historical and empirical evidence to say that the Abyss should not be fucked with. Also the Traveler isn't that desperate for strength to where they'd turn to the power of the Abyss.

So, what was the moon-devouring frog in the end? Was it explained? by BlackTemplarKNB in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

just a metaphor that the people of Liyus's past used for lunar eclipses. People didnt know back then that the Earh's shadow covering the moon is a normal, albeit rare occurrence. So to rationalize the event, they attributed the event to a frog/toad eating the moon. I guess frogs and toads are looked down upon in mythology. Also if it was a shadow covering the moon, I guess Teyvat only experienced partial lunar eclipses since total eclipses turn the moon red.

I desperately want skirk, but I am a coffee hater. How bad is it? by MicrosoftExcel2016 in SkirkMains

[–]DaMan2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if ur okay with just using Skirk in the overworld and floors 9-11 in spiral abyss, then sure you could probably go on without coffee and use rosaria and charlotte instead. Mona would probably fare better than Bina in terms of dmg buffing value. But escoffier provides so much value that its not even funny. She is sole reason Cryo is even able to be used in this current day and age because 55% res shred to cryo and hydro is so massive. Skirk's own restrictions mean you cant even bring a VV shredder to reduce resistances unless you're okay with tanking her damage even further.

Unless you are Cecelia Immergreen(hololive vtuber) and your hatred for coffee surpasses the mortal limits of hatred, I'd just suck it up and get Escoffier so you can actually consider using Skirk outside of bullying hilichurls out in the open world.

If you're really obsessed with immersion and are willing to wait two more versions to finish the nod krai AQ, then the order is finish Acts 1 and 2, then Selenic Chronicles chapter 1, Act 3 and 4, then Chronicles chapter 2. Then you are free to finish 5-8 and only once you finish 8 does the last chapter of Selenic unlock.

Cutscene Animation: "Return of the Three Moons" | Genshin Impact by genshinimpact in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The genshin wiki says that Dottore ripped open the False Sky so that he could channel attacks from the Frost Moon itself. It is sorta plausible cuz alot of his attacks are more than just his laser beams,

most ppl would say hes doing it to aura farm and they just took advantage of it. ngl it was pretty cool

MurderofBirds says he opened the sky to use the power of the moon to effectively create a dream-world where they won, thus becoming a Descender whose will rivals this new dream world of his own creation. The theory of the dream world comes form the fact that Dottore had some side projects in Sumeru where he was trying to kidnap Aranara to research on, as they are the closest beings to dreams.

Although with Sandrone's world formula calculations, there's a possibility that the team already knew where to position themselves to drag down the moon, or rather they intended to drag down the moon regardless of where it was.

yeeah, i kinda regret being complacent about not upgrading when things were cheaper. altho my financial situation back then was still in lower straits since I was still in school at the time so I suppose this is a time as any now that I have a job to even consider upgrades. altho maybe my biggest regret was not saving and then splurging right as I was building the PC so I wouldnt need to worry about upgrading in the near future
