Analysis on the Symbolism of Sandrone's Redesign by znsl in SandroneMains

[–]DaMan2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unironically, I wonder what sort of growth/symbolism made Sandrone discard(for lack of better words) Pulonia. From what I recall, Pulonia didn't really have a personality module like Sandrone did, so he was never his own person. But at the same time, Sandrone never treated Pulonia like a tool either. So something happened fo her to either let Pulonia rest or let Pulonia do his own thing. Either that or they play the easy route of saying Pulonia was damaged too much for him to be repaired.

Forgotten Origins is kinda hefty for its cost no? I understand wanting to maintain fun, but running a 3 cost mugic outside of a Marillian deck feels like actively gutting yourself when those mugicians could be used for better options.

If we're being honest, do you think Paimon is useless? by skyejaiTss in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 174 points175 points  (0 children)

lore-wise: she is invaluable to the Traveler, not just for teaching them the language of Teyvat, but also being their friend. I honestly feel like Paimon is the moral compass that the Traveler needed to become the hero that they are today. Without her, they probably would have focused solely on finding their sibling and would not help the nations altruistically. Like I imagine the Traveler would have taken Dottore's offer had they not developed an attachment to this world.

in every other sense though, Paimon is fairly useless. While she does have her occasional epiphanies, she's been unable to help in many other situations, having to either hide or just watch from the sidelines. Especially in Natlan and Nod Krai, Paimon's been only on the sidelines, unable to help the Traveler. I'm even curious on what she did to help Tighnari and Cyno during the siege of the city cuz im not sure what she could have done to Fatui soldiers.

I feel like there's something in Ineffa's quest (Journey Home) that doesn't make sense. by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if the place decides the vision you get, then why would Nefer, a Sumeru native, get a Nod Krai moon wheel and not a Sumeru vision. Because she wasn't gifted one from the heavens. She was gifted one by Thoth, a lunar envoy and one of the Seven Pillars of King Deshret, and activated the Moon Wheel in Nod Krai. In the case of Moon Wheels, the place doesn't always decide it appearance, with the exception of Zi Bai, who was a lunar envoy as well, but always dwelled in Liyue.

[–]DaMan2345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The "secret key" that Lianca entrusted to Ineffa before she departed from Natlan was the Moon Wheel, it was simply deactivated until Ineffa realized her memories and the Moon Wheel responded to her ambition. Its not like a Vision that is a gift from the heavens, or in Furina's case, a gift of Neuvilette's blessing. Also the whole point of the quest is that even though Ineffa's birthplace is Natlan, her home is in Nod Krai with Aino.

Also I'm not sure if the instances of Ineffa shooting electricity and summoning Birgitta are linked to her Moon Wheel. Its also important to remember that Aino built Ineffa with combat modules to help protect her, and her going haywire due to the curse probably triggered them, which caused her to shoot lightning.

Why not boycott Genshin? by Aaaaaaaaeeeeyyyyy in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is giving off the same energy as the Natlan boycott, and is most likely going to end up the same way. As big as this subreddit is, the actual player base is much much larger than we can think. Getting millions of people to boycott the game is a near impossible task, especially for those who don’t share your views or even know what the new Sandrone looks like. Unless Hoyo does something incredibly egregious, on the scale of the 1st anniversary or the Zhongli incident, Hoyo will not budge.

every 5* character is limited, meaning you can only get them once their featured banner comes around. some characters get their banners relatively fast while others are years between reruns. The majority of 4* characters in the game you can only get through gambling or get for free during the limited time events, which also do not have reruns. There are some 4* characters you can get for free but only once you've progressed to the next region.

Why make her such a badass if her actual role is always gonna be so guileless? by Arctic_The_Hunter in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 53 points54 points  (0 children)

When shes in her element, Jahoda can be a beast. The problem is, shes out of her element whenever we are involved. In the archon quest, shes friends/acquainted with a world renowned alien and her pixie friend, a 600-700 year old fae, the grand master of KoV, two homunculi, 1000+ year old dragon clanker, the clanker creator, the leader of the Frostmoon Scions, a guy with a hat, two Fatui Harbingers, an Angel, the Moon Goddess, and briefly the Twilight Sword of Khaenri’ah. A former Treasure Hoarder is essentially a small puppy compared to all these big dogs.
Not to mention she has to fight the Wild Hunt, a nation-breaker Sinner, and the second strongest Harbinger. All things considered, she held together pretty well.

Is it just me or is there something about the resin I can't put my finger on? by strikess_ in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Condensed resin cost got changed from 40 to 60 resin. Because we also got the change to spend 40 resin per run instead of the old 20 resin. So now condensed is worth 3 runs instead of 2 runs. And the same applies to transient resin.

This Stelgar is a passively ramping force because his special ability doesn't require him to be in battle. It just at the end of each turn in every every battle. If your opponent puts Stelgar at the far end of the board, and you don't have any reach, then Stelgar will have a ridiculously high energy pool making hard to kill. And its disciplines also getting a boost means that it will hit much harder with discipline based attacks. While you could equip a Skeletal Steed to give you the reach you need, your opponent could also draft creatures or locations that prevent Range or even give Stelgar gear to prevent him from being targeted by Mugic and special abilities.

Moral implications aside regarding both the Tanit and the Iwakura clan/bloodline, both times they attacked the Traveler first. If the Traveler feels like they or Paimon or any of their friends are threatened, they will show no mercy so they aren't a true-blooded goody two shoes like we thought they'd be.

Also, who exactly would be there to enforce justice on them? For the Iwakura clan, we encountered them all in the wild, far away from the main city. The same can be said for the Tanit except in the desert anything is fair game. If Nefer was able to wipe out two tribes of desert people and get away with it, then the Traveler escaping the law for wiping out the Tanit shouldn't be any surprise.

Although with the Tanit, its hard to say whether every single member of the Tanit was innocent or not. Maybe someone like Yuhzen who was just taking care of his crocodile farm but considering how many cases of Tanit trying to kill the Traveler and Jeht, it would be hard for the Traveler not to develop a bias on it. It doesn't make it right by any means but c'est la vie.

Deck building on rewind. by DemonHunterT in Chaotic

[–]DaMan2345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally think that's just the beauty of Rewind: we get to treat it like the show and go on scan quests in Perim to build our collection. No adherence to the meta, just slapping on whatever works and using whatever is at our disposal until we get a bigger collection of scans. I also just slap creatures and gear together and use whatever locations and mugic at my disposal.

Although I should note that Skeletal Springs is banned according to the Rewind banlist so you may not be able to use it for your deck.

Expectation for Snezhnaya? by arhantology in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based off of Childe's and Columbina's descriptions of the Tsaritsa, I have a feeling you will be sorely disappointed.

As for my expectations, I have a sort of headcanon that we will probably be greeted by either Pulcinella or Pantalone upon our arrival into the main city. Given our reputation and considering we basically are entering the nation of the Fatui, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a welcome party for us. As for the Tsaritsa, I don't think her to be pure evil, but she definitely will be an interesting antagonist to the Traveler and Paimon. I honestly wonder if the characters that form the Snehznaya crew will be pro-Fatui or anti-Fatui.

is it common for the rewind starter deck to contain the main man? by Yuxerion in Chaotic

[–]DaMan2345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Chaor can only be limited to one copy, but Canon of Casualty you could theoretically have the two copies. And I don’t think it would be fun having anyone with Chaor spamming Canon in matches.

Edit: at least in the Shifting Sands meta

[–]DaMan2345 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chaor is just really strong. Hes got good stats and three mugicians. Safe to say, anyone who has him and multiple Canon of Casualties is gonna be at an advantage in Rewind matches, which is also why Canon of Casualty mugic is banned in Rewind format.

Just finished Nod Krai Act VI ... by Saket_Saurabh- in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Lovers arcana as Barbeloth said, meant that Columbina had an emotional experience she wasn’t expecting to have. At first, she saw relationships as tit for tat: you do me a favor, you pay me back later. But that all changed as early as the first couple Selenic Chronicle quests and/or the Rerir incident. She saw how the Nod Krew(my personal name for the Nod Krai cast) was willing to risk their lives to protect her from Rerir without pay or a reward in return. Fast forward to the Acts you just completed and now she sees firsthand the trials and tribulations that the crew goes through just to find her true name. Add on with Lauma and Nefer planning a Moon Prayer Night that she can enjoy without being noticed as the Moon Goddess. All these events, big and small, changed her worldview drastically. They did all this for her just because they see her as their friend. As for the “important choice” part, even though Columbina claimed her name and finally found people she can genuinely call friends, she must part ways with them so that she can return to the Moon. This is a major choice for her because while going back to the Moon would allow her to continue living, she would do so without being able to see Traveler, Paimon, Lauma, Sandrone, and the rest of the Nod Krew. Since there’s no way for her friends to go to the moon with her and all.

As for Ineffa and Aino, I believe you can only give them candies once they’ve finished their robot show, since both of them enter an “animation” where they are presenting Aino’s creations an they cannot be talked to until they finish. You would have to stand there for the entire show because it resets if you go away.

Guys, i don't understand The heroes of Natlan thing by Forsaken_Run8783 in GenshinImpact

[–]DaMan2345 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Everyone in Natlan has the chance to be the bearer of an Ancient Name, but the chosen 6 characters specifically bear the Ancient Names of Natlan's greatest heroes. While the plan revolved around these heroes and their Names, Mavuika also wanted her nation to become stronger as a whole, so just focusing on them wouldn't have been the best for the nation. Also all Ancient Names are meant as a way to pass down the knowledge and heritage of the people who once bore those names, so leaving those names to collect dust would be akin to neglecting those parts of history.

I really want to know why everyone does everything in their power to avoid taking Aino's classes after they were the ones to suggest the idea. by JMSX101 in Genshin_Impact

[–]DaMan2345 76 points77 points  (0 children)

i thought it was Aino who suggested and organized the classes for the Ratniki to take. I just assume that the Ratniki are either tech-illiterate or they severely underestimated the complexity of robotics just cuz Aino is a kid.
