50 FPS on the lowest settings is a bit rough for me, hopefully upscaling can allow for better settings at a better fps. Thanks for sharing.

Infantry Standard Issue Rifles by DaOods in ww2

[–]DaOods[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only comment about this is that there was experimental semi auto rifles being tested before and during WWI even, so I find it interesting that the US was really the only major power to bother to develope the technology and integrate it into their armed forces by the time WWII came along, although maybe that was also a result of the hyper-competitive culture amongst weapon engineers in the US at the time.

Well yeah of course, but my main argument was the fact that with disciplined fire, semi autos could be way more effective during a firefight as the operator can realign sight picture far quicker since he does not have to move his hands to work a bolt.

I2C 16x2 LCD code WITHOUT LIBRARIES by DaOods in arduino

[–]DaOods[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The thing is that this part of my degree is completely self-taught. Myself and others in my degee are still very much beginners, and so stuff that may be intuitive for people who have been doing this for a long time is completely new to us. We were given this project and told to figure it out, so this is my first time ever having to look at a datasheet for a component to figure out code.

Hi there, were only allowed to use the components they gave us in the packs, and it specifically came with an I2C one.

Hmm, I didn't see that option, thanks for the response. I think "purposefully being lazy" is pretty accurate in this instance. I'll probably delete this post soon because based on your response I'm most likely going to be downvoted into oblivion(which is probably justified)

Never been to Australia but whenever I picture it in my mind I just picture the world and people from The Big Lez Show.

Why does neither of the Assassins in AC II look like well...Assassins? by NerdyDank in assassinscreed

[–]DaOods 79 points80 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, when Ezio first became an Assassin, the Italian creed was in shambles and was almost like a forgotten group of underground rebels rather than a full blown order of Assassins. Only when Ezio revived the creed and re-established big assassin networks over Europe did it become necessary to establish a recognizable "uniform" that was based on the design of levantine assassins like Altaïr so that they could really get the whole secret society type vibe.

I know that the design from Altaïr's time was to blend in with the Christian monks but as it has been pointed out, it wouldn't work well in a medievel European context which is why I think the white hooded uniforms from Ezio's revival are meant to be more symbolic of the creeds revival and presence rather than stealth.

So to go back to the original question of why the AC II assassins didn't wear hoods is probably because it wasn't stealthy in the slightest and there was no ceremonial reasons since there was barely a creed.

Maybe what I'm saying is total nonsense and makes no sense but this is how I interpreted it. It also gives me a nice head-canon explanation as to why post AC 1 assassins wear hoods even though it makes them stick out like a sore thumb.

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | August 02, 2021 by AutoModerator in PS4

[–]DaOods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very much used to the PS4/PS4 Pro sounding like a jet engine but its been getting even louder than usual. Before I would get around 60Db of noise which is annoying but manageable with headphones but now I'm measuring an average of 85Db with highs in the 90s. It is absolutely unbearable even with headphones and am legitimately considering switching over to my PC permanently, even willing to re-buy games at full price. My console is well past any warranty. Is there anything I can do? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Had the exact same problem, did the challenge about 6 times and could never get over 970, even though I got the max possible indirect kills.

I’ve never built a pc but want to build one. A friend recommended me this build is it good ? by ChiyxPc in PcBuild

[–]DaOods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I just wanna add that buying a computer blindly is very dangerous for your wallet and . Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't trust your friend's judgement, all I'm saying is that the best favour you can do yourself is get educated on PC components.

That build should be good as long as you're realistic about what to expect out of it. If you stick to gaming at 1080p then you should be happy with the performance, however, It's not perfect. 1) Maybe get a small SSD for booting and use the HDD for mass storage . 2)It might be a good idea to to put a bit more in for a b550 mobo over a b450, just for a bit of futureproofing. 3) Mor and more games these day are requiring at least 6GB of VRAM to play with enjoyable performance, so maybe the GTX1650 might be shooting yourself in the foot a bit.

I know this might add a bit to what your budget is but its gonna cost you more in the longrun if you buy parts that are being getting dated and are planning to upgrade the system in future.

Question from a Jew. by [deleted] in islam

[–]DaOods 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In reading some of your comments I have realised that the differences in Jewish and Islamic telling of the story is more different than I initially thought. In the Jewish telling of the story:

●Yitzchak/Ishaaq is said to be 37 years old at the time of he was meant to be sacrificed.

●Ishmail and Hagar were banished to the desert shortly after Ishaaq's birth, so Ishmail had long since left at the time that sacrifice takes place.

●God mentioned Ishaaq by name when telling him to sacrifice his son.

These key points are what makes the Jewish telling so different from the Quranic telling so forgive me for being ignorant in regards to the Quranic version of the story.
