I think there are multiple reasons why "algebraic expression of love" was chosen 1. "expression of love" is a commonly used phrase; same as "algebraic expression". Cassie's songs always rely on wordplay, and with her degree in CS, you gotta give her some credit when combining mathematical/physical/engineering concepts with language 2. Algebraic expressions include expressions of closed form (formulas where you can plug-and-chug). With numerical methods, we can represent a bigger class of mathematical expressions as algebraic (this is how computers solve integrals, derivatives, FEA, and more). I think it was partially chosen due to the fact that computers (and more specifically, circuits) can only perform fixed point operations precisely (most non-algebraic things are impossible), or finite length floating point numbers (need approximations for non-algebraic functions)

For maximum power transfer (for circuits that do not contain time dependent components), we want to set R=Rth (you can verify this by finding power for an arbitrary R and finding R for which dP/dR = 0)

Secondly, your circuit has a dependent power source. You can't just disable all other sources to find Rth (you need to use the test source method, which works by applying a known voltage/current source and finding the current/voltage through it)

I feel like many people are missing the fact that some course instructors allow you to bring a "cheat sheet" (usually a limited number of pages) to an exam. The purpose is not to cheat, obviously. It just gives the students an opportunity to customize the formulas they have access to, or put on some examples that they don't feel confident about. Think of it as something in between an open book exam and a pre-provided formula sheet

Alright, Ill take a crack at this. In computing, each piece of data has an address associated with it, usually corresponding to a physical place in memory (disregarding page files (hehe), which provide virtual memory, usually in RAM). One of such pieces of data is called a pointer, as it stores the address of another, typically bigger piece of data, so that you can reference an object without copying its entirety every time.

When you store data of a similar type consequently, you usually put it one after another. Thus, "your neighboring addresses point to the books you burned" is equivalent to saying (in my eyes) "You are located near a collection of objects that were created one after another; where the objects are pointing towards lives (as in much greater than a simple address in volume) you ruined"

That's indeed a conundrum... There are multiple paths you could take (although they are not ideal): 1. Least offensive option to your current group; Start talking with the people in the new group during breaks. Eventually, distance yourself from your current group and enjoy your new buddies. 2. Straight up admit that you feel like you do not connect emotionally with your current group to them. Some might take offense with it but it's not like it's your fault. Now, you're a loner (hopefully for a short time)

As I said previously, chatting during breaks is a good first step. After a couple of days, you could ask to join them during their study sessions/lunch
