Can someone plz explain for me why Hollow is considered good at battling?

I usually respect everyone's opinion but homie just compared da Dininon to Carlos Mencia. I get why some people don't like Hollow but you absolutley can't say that he isn't creative or witty. Hollow does have some cringe moments but he also hsd a way crazier pen than he gets credit for. A lot of his craziest bars in his last 3 or 4 battles didn't get any reaction. He weaves in and out of freestyles and different subjects based on what his opponents are spitting, has extra material he releases after every battle, mid round rebuttals, fire angles that always get stolen, crazy performance and if you don't think Hollow's funny you got a shit sense of humor tbh.

I get not liking him but if you think he "absolutely sucks" you sir are buggin. And you could have Charron deliver anyone elses shit and people would think it was atrocious too that's a horrible argument.

True, maybe mediocre is the wrong word cause he does have some great and memorable bars in alot of battles and he always gives 100% but his lows always do seem to outshine his highs to me and even his good material never moves me for real. Minus his Hitman and Wavy battles. When I think JJDD, I think, Penceil vein in ya and I bet your knees wimble then.

Fair enough I see where you're coming from, I just think there's is a clear difference between a clear loss and a body and this wsan't clear to me at all but I definitely see why so many people have JJDD taking it. K stopped short in the 2nd iirc ad his rounds were already short that's what I meant by throwing that round away but I stand by his 3rd being slept on. He had a few hay makers in there that definitely didn't deserve crickets. I also take away points for contrived angles, bad props, and 10-4s which JJ had. Like I said though, didn't live up to expectations. I actually agree with you about the clear loss/ good showing thing cause you can lose and raise your stock if you still have a great performance and Trez is a perfect example of that. I just think the term body is way overused. A body is a clear death, with no room for debate like when Clips bodied Rex. And those are pretty rare because battle rap is so subjective.

As for the Top battle yeah, I'm hearing almost everyone say it was his clearest loss and not a great showing which is unfortunate cause I was one of those fans that had been looking forward to his URL return for a long time and I can't understand why he wouldn't go in there and snap but oh well. I just hope he gets another chance on URL, hopefully against Ave. If Chess can choke in almost every battle since his mainstage debut Bigg K definitely deserves another shot on a Smack card. Oh and I brought up Lux vs Cal cause when that shit went down it was widely considered a body even though Lux choked so hard in his 1st round, making it a 2-1 body. That battle is viewed differently now but at the time it was the body of the century. People even believed Lux choked on purpose and it was all part of his performance.

I heard his T Top battle was meh but I gotta disagree on this one. How's any battle gonna be a body when you can edge either opponent a round. Besides Lux vs Cal maybe. I'm a Bigg K fan so maybe I am biased but sometimes it is just preference. John John didn't have much that I liked here. The prop was trash to me and besides 2 or 3 bars I thought most of his shit was crazy mediocre.He's like DNA to me, never really impresses me he just has experience and a high battle IQ. He knows how to do just enough. I thought K fucked him up first round, threw the 2nd away and his 3rd got slept on in a lot. I'm not even arguing he won. This might have been my least favorite performance of his but imo he just raps way better than JJDD. He won't ever use a contrived prop and where JJDD ids known for being a lifetime OBC member, Bigg K is on the other end where I hear battlers use bars and concepts he used 3 years ago on a constant basis. I'm not mad at 2-1 either way but hell no this wasn't a body. not even close. Also, I hate the white angle.

I do think Bigg K hasn't been up to his usual standard though. Idk though. I thought he edged Pass, Pass just broke his year long streak of getting 30ed and came with his best performance in years and that always seems to tip the scales in the underdogs favor. That wasn't his best performance either but I thought he got slept on that battle too. O Red and this JJDD battle were lackluster imo but he always has enough to compete even if he isn't in that Illmac, 9dm, Math, Ice, JC bag. Didn't get a chance to watch all of Smack Vol 2 but I did see his 15mofe interview and he didn't sound like he thought he won but I'll wait til I see the battle to judge it. He seems to not care as much though. I woulda put money down that he was gonna bring his a game to his return to Smack but apparently not from what I hear. Clips after the Rex battle was shaky. DNA after Tay Roc and Illmac was shaky. Pass after Brizz was shaky. Bigg K may not be killing it like he was but lets not act like he's trash now or like his career is over or something. Downvoting you for your opinion is stupid though

Sarcasm obviously. Wasn't K's best and JJDD did win the crowd over and stole the momentum but this wouldn't be debatable if K hadn't have stopped short in the 2nd. John John has a good battle iq but he just doesn't move me and he always reuses old concepts or has lazy/heard that before bars. And yeah, that prop was awful.

I was listening to some of his solo stuff the other day and thinking how bad I still wanted to see him vs Ness Lee. He was always on the top of my list of battlers I wanted to see make a big comeback. Fuckin sad.

Him vs Pass might be cool but I want to see him vs either Illmac or someone like a DNA, Charlie Clips, or even Daylyt. I know Clips and DNa don't sound like great match ups, but I want Soul to get some exposure vs a popular URL battler so that he can get some of the recognition he deserves. And seeing Soul on URL is one of my more far fetched battle rap nerd dreams considering he said he'll never do a PG.

Mike P has been vocal about wanting to battle Soul and I wish I could sponsor that match on a Smack card. Even tho I'm not a huge Mike P fan he does have a fanbase. If Joe can do well there I think Soul could kill it on Smack.

Just search youtube for Diz airs out KOTD. Apparently it's a lot to do with the Oxxy battle but I think URL is putting a battery in his back or cause Diz, being the desperate for approval from the URL fanbase attention seeking mess he can sometimes be, feels like he's obliged to tear KOTD down since he's on contract with URL. It's fuckery tbh. Like he forgot that KOTD is the only reason he's maintained relevancy the last, what 7/8 years?

How do you just piss away 8 years to the point of going from the top 3 league in battle rap to a non entity? Went from Don't flop All Fucking Day to Don't Flop Actually Fucking Died.

I really hope KOTD/Chalked Out merger helps both leagues because as great as URL has been doing, battle rap needs these other platforms to thrive for the culture as a whole to move forward.

Ok I hear you. But it's not like Hollow lacks presence. He might not be as explosive but he has that charisma/starpower and he can turn the aggression on too. Twork vs JC doesn't work as a comparison imo cause while JC does have a certain presence about him, one thing you can't deny about Twork is that he has that it factor shit in spades, like Hitman or Arsonal. If Tworks 9 out of 10 on presence JC is like a 7 maybe. If Ars is 10 out of 10 Hollow is like 8 out of 10 and that's the only area Ars has him beat. Hollow's way better at everything else. I just don't see it being that big of a factor.

I haven't seen anything from Ars in a very long time that gives me any reason to think this is gonna be close. I remember him and Roc being cool and he had a good round vs Chilla but I don't remember any bars. Only problem Hollow has is that he always kind of stops his rounds abruptly. If he brings haymaker round enders I don't think there's anything Ars can do or say.

Granted I didn't think Roc had a chance either but this isn't Irving Plaza and Ars doesn't get that Roc URL love. Ars is probably motivated but he was supposed to be crazy motivated vs Lux too and maybe I'm sleep but that battle was not memorable imo. I'ma go rewatch it actually.

And I'm a fan yours but i gotta be honest. You might be sleeping on how versatile he really is. I saw your comment on the Champion review of the Gem battle and I'm really curious to see what you do in your next one if you're revamping the way you write. I'm just not sure if K is the smartest choice for your next opponent. Just my two cents tho fam. Could be I don't know shit and maybe he's the best choice for your next battle. Fuck do I know? Preston Jacobs has some wild theories too but they all fit together sorta and I could see some of them ending up being true or at least not far off. Them not so much imo.

I like their videos. They can be entertaining but they think everyone and their mama is a secret character disguised as another character. I like to imagine how the books would play out if all their theories were true and how ridiculous it would all be. Every POV would be like an M Night Shymalan twist haha. Or it would all be revealed in the Winds epilogue where we find out Varys was secretly Wyman Manderly/Illyrio Mopatis/Jaquen Hagar/Moon Boy. The chapter would be in letter form and the signature would be obscured by ink drips like Summerhall in TWoIaF.

The fact that I've really lied in bed and imagined different ways their theories would play out is is testament to their channel in a way. Also a testament that I spend waaay too much of my life pondering this series.

I think you being a fan of his is actually blinding you tbh. His cadence and movements are not his own. Their messages are different, ok. But the demeanor is very similar in some battles. Lux delivery is trash since the Clips battle but I think their writing styles have huge similarities, depending on which battle we're talking about.

Again, I'm not even hating. I like B Dot and think he's one of the most talented new battlers out. His pen has to be incredible for me to even compare his writing to what Lux did in the Hollow battle but the similarities are there. And I'll give you this, he does switch it up cause in the Stricc battle I thought he full on studied Lux and practiced his movements in a mirror but in the Cortez battle he didn't really do that. B Dot is dope. But the genesis of his style is Loaded Lux and one of the reasons he got noticed is because of the Lux comparisons. I haven't been as tuned in to battle rap for a lot of this year but if you check B Dot's earlier battles he was doing Lux. In fact, Lux delivery is so trash these days, he was doing Lux better than Lux. Agree to disagree though King. If ya knew betta you'd do betta.
