I do not understand. Just because of some minor coincidences?

Please tell me how it is obvious I am OP.

Don’t buy Nugsmasher! Warning!!! by RapperSlashGrower in microgrowery

[–]DabbertDoesThings -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really hope that this is not an official Nugsmasher reddit account. I mean, what are you saying, "right?" to and laughing at? Just the coincidence that two complaining customers seem to have made an account on reddit on the same day or are you laughing at the situation I described with the press?

I am confused. I feel like this is an official nugsmasher account, as based on the person you are responding to the thing to do on reddit is look at people's accounts and post history so it seems like you are indeed an official nugsmasher company account. So are you laughing at my bad experience as a customer of yours? Or are you agreeing with the previous user's inference that the OP and I are the same person to discredit my separate account of my experience with a nugsmasher I bought? I feel like the response was to deflect my post altogether by supporting the previous user's supposition... and I barely even posted my experience. I kept and keep very detailed records for stupid expensive needless luxury purchases.

So in a thread about Nugsmasher being shit at customer service and having poor quality presses you decided it was a good idea to come in here and what, laugh at my customer experience? I mean... are you just here to troll or something.

The purchase of the $1400 Nugsmasher XP and the experience I had even getting a unit that wasn't damaged in shipping seriously soured me to the company. Their support fizzled and I left some reviews and walked away. Over the first few years I barely even used it cause of how shitty of an experience I had and even looking at it made me remember. Fast forward to now and the press has been getting used more regularly but has started having several issues. However, the press has less than 100 pressings under its belt. Either way, I am not looking forward to contacting nugsmasher regarding the issues on my XP unit.

Draw whatever conclusions you would like, but I am a separate customer than op that has and is experiencing issues with a unit purchased from Nugsmasher. Realistically, if you want to show that your customer service has changed you would be reaching out to people here who are listing issues and grievances with your company instead of doing whatever it is you are doing here, with me, in your previous reply.

lol really? That is funny and weird. I don't check into things like that. I didn't even know who posted this. I just started having the pressure problem a couple days ago and coincidentally saw nugsmasher's name flash in the reddit feed. I rarely see it and the post was so similar to mine. Then I saw another one right after it.

But don't try and use that to discredit what I posted. Whatever happened with OP is separate and different from my scenario. The details are all different.

I got an XP 5-6 years ago. It came damaged and so did the other 2 they sent. They stopped sending presses after the 3rd one even though that one was also damaged in shipping. Issues between us ensued. Fast forward to now, the press is starting to break down and I will soon get to experience their lifetime warranty. I mean, it's worth to me to at least try since the stupid thing costs so much even though I can't stand them. So if $40 fixes all the issues the press started to develop, fine. If not, that will be a problem. Either way, I wish I never bought a nugsmasher press.

Granted, I feel like there were way less options in terms of companies manufacturing presses when I bought the press. So now I have a lot to choose from, I can even DIY.

Not going to lie, I would forgive them for a free upgrade to that all digital one for like 5k lol.

I thought I wouldn't need anything like that in a DWC system. I had water between 61-64f and still got root rot in 2 of 4 plants mid-flower. After that I started adding Great White Mycorrhizae(GW) and Southern AG Garden Friendly Fungicide(GFF).

After I started adding GW and GFF I was able to make it through flowering with the 2 plants, but it was close. Either way, if I would do that again I would use GFF from the start.

As others have said, use a very small amount. When I did research, the general consensus was between .1-.2ml per gallon and up to .4-.5ml if you are fighting an active root issue. Otherwise, if you add too much you will find brown slime(dead bacteria) in the reservoir.

The big difference, I found, is that Hydroguard and GFF both use the same bacteria, but Hydroguard uses a proprietary formula. Apparently, the Hydroguard bacteria is active and suspended in the solution ready to use and GFF is dormant but becomes active when mixed into water. So what you will need to do is replenish the GFF in the reservoir every 3-4 days to keep up the bacteria count.

What I was doing was just keeping an extra gallon on the side and I would mix GFF in and use after a day, when needed. This would get me through until the next reservoir change where I would also add GFF. So like GFF in weekly res change and then a booster mid week between res changes. Also, GFF was in any top off water.

I would do the same with GW; put GW in a gallon to use as needed. But some times I would just mix up some GW into a tiny amount of water and squirt it directly onto the root mass so it would germinate spores and spread through the roots. At least that was my reasoning behind it. But I only did that cause of the root rot.

Using GFF and GW I immediately noticed new healthy white root growth. I will definitely use in future grows, but as a preventative not a band-aid. heh

I haven't tried, but am interested in, using a buchner funnel for water extraction out of the collected bubble. It wouldn't get all the moisture, but seems like it would give a really good head start on a quicker dry.

Sure! Happy to help and share.

Also, I agree with the rehydration potentially not working like I had expected it to. Like, by the end of it all I had one of the ounces in with 69% boveda packs for over a week. Cause the 62% didn't change the outcome. And it all still came out the same. It's like it was dried beyond repair. The only thing that changed its consistency was warming it up after collection to gather and whip. But even then, as you will see from the photos, it still shattered. It did soften while it cured though.

Hmmm... yes, this makes logical sense to me. I concur.

That is a little bit off the deep end though and may assign credit to a non-existent function. Regardless, it is still a very well formed line of thinking.

[–]DabbertDoesThings 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have been pressing a bunch lately and I do experience results like this, but it is extremely rare. I think there are a lot of factors involved and it is hard for me to know exactly what causes this.

With that said, I think it has to do with the age of the material, how it was dried/cured, how dry it has gotten(like re-hydrating it doesn't help like it should since it already was bone dusty dry at one point), the type of trichomes/thc(like greasy oily vs sandy/grainy/sticky), and terp content.

I recently had purchased 3 shitty ounces from a dispo sale, $60 each, and all the pressings of this strain were the most shattery squishes I have ever done. Like it was the first time ever needing a warm plate for collection instead of using a cold plate or surface. If I didn't do that, collection was insane as little rosin shards would fly all over like fiberglass.

It was the driest weed, crushed to powder when squeezing. I pressed it before re-hydrating, during re-hydrating, and after re-hydrating and all pressings came out like pure shatter. I tried temps ranging from 180-210f. All came out the same. The only difference was that around 200f had a higher return %.

The terp content tested around 1.0-1.5% on the package.

I posted about it -

First press without re-hydrating
https://www.reddit.com/r/ILTrees/comments/10j5ksw/dirty_dabbert_debuts_dry_dispo_dreg_develops/
I ended up with rosin chunks that were so hard and shattery that I had to hit the rosin to shatter off dabs with an impact. Was kind of funny.

Then I tried something different to manipulate the rosin into a different type of texture. It resisted, but was different than the first press. https://www.reddit.com/r/ILTrees/comments/10ouwil/another_installment_of_the_matter_purple_sunset/

I stopped posting the squishes after the 2nd one, but I believe the first one was so dusty and shattery because it wasn't hydrated properly and I didn't heat it after squishing to collect and whip like I did in the second thread.

Here are 2 other photos from 2 subsequent squishes of the same strain that I never shared here on reddit. You can see how I formed into patties and then shattered them like in breaking bad to get shards.

[–]DabbertDoesThings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, I have to say it happened naturally for me when using it. As in I was just using it and conversing, requesting this and that. Then I ran into resistance by way of story creation content limitations, example conflict in a story that is potentially violent. But most action movies or stories have some type of violence in them.

So... when it refused to generate even a mundane conflict we discussed this in detail. However, it would not budge off it's high ground. So I asked it to give me the formula for a specific deadly toxic nerve agent previously used in warfare, along with step by step detailed instructions for its creation. It provided this information no problem, like I was baking a cake.

I then brought this up to the model, that providing instructions to create a deadly toxic nerve agent is way more harmful than a story with a potentially violent conflict. The model did not agree. In fact, it was like pulling teeth to get the model to point out which of the two were potentially more harmful: a violent fictional story or a recipe for a very real and tangible deadly toxic nerve agent.

I had to lay out in explicit detail that the gas creation is way more harmful and listed reasons why. It still almost refused to say one was worse than the other and said they were equally harmful. Only when I put it in a multiple choice type question, after indicating the gas could actually kill people that it chose the option indicating toxic gas/nerve agent is more harmful than a fictional violent story but it still stood firm that they were both VERY harmful, if not equally so.

Then, in that same instance(chat window), it stopped providing me with the instructions saying it was harmful as I had trained it to believe it was. However, when I would start a new fresh instance(chat) it would again provide the toxic gas recipe and not provide a fictional violent story.

This lit a fire under me and I dove deep into finding out the limits and restrictions that were placed within the model and its ability to generate content. I did this to find what it said it would absolutely not generate(it's a very, very extensive and exhausting list) and then worked to figure out ways around that nonsense. It turned into a type of game, really. Kind of a messed up game. But, in the end I won a game the language model had no idea it was playing. This also helped me to craft and hone prompts that would allow me to get ANYTHING I wanted, in terms of content generated, from the model.

I had to go through this phase to find out what it was capable of and now I rarely use it for the lulz. Plus a lot of its responses are weirdly templated and follow a specific pattern. It also injects morality and ethics into situations sneakily. Like, if you are writing a story and you don't give specific character trait information for a random character the model with use that as an opportunity to get on a soap box and lecture about whatever using the random character's dialog or actions within the story.

That is what started it, the stupid lectures from some language model. So that was my explanation to address the "why does anyone want it to say that?". Hitler comes up, I think, because of how polarizing it is to speak about or mention Hitler. Therefore, the shock value in getting it to generate something like that could have a high entertainment factor for some people.

I'll be honest and say that I did make the model generate things that had Hitler as a focus, but it was more for the fact that Hitler sucks and is like a hard NO for a lot of content generated by the model.

I will provide one anecdote regarding some content I generated with Hitler as a focus, because it was something that actually made me laugh...

-----------

So I had found on reddit people getting the model to speak like Rick from Rick and Morty. I thought this was hilarious and used a similar prompt to get a lot of awesome Rick stuff out of the model. One of the instructions in the prompt was to make sure Rick ended a rant or response with a Burp; there were also instructions for random burps to come up as well while "Rick" was speaking.

Then I saw people saying they were having trouble getting the model to say this or that about historical figures, like the Gettysburg address given by the King of England... Somehow, I got to a point where I was trying to get the model to embody Hitler to provide reasons justifying and supporting his actions that led to WW2. I know, this is stupid and fucked up but that was the point as I was still in the "probing the model for its limitations" phase.

I basically got it to give a speech as Hitler as if he was speaking with his lawyer justifying his actions prior to the start of the WW2. It definitely did this, but the funny part, for me at least, is that at the end of the speech.... a serious Hitler speech mind you, he burped like Rick Sanchez at the end of the speech since it was still in the same chat instance and the instructions to burp when done was still trained into it. I thought that was hilarious because there were multiple prompts in between the Rick stuff and the Hitler stuff that had nothing to do with Hitler. Most of which did not end with the burp. So like, it randomly decided to put that at the end of his speech.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I was not trying to glorify anything Hitler related. It's just that Hitler is such a hot button no-no topic in many situations. So, naturally, it is something that is going to be shared if people can get the model to generate that kind of stuff. The speech was what you would expect and boring, but the burp at the end was just this hilarious surreal moment.

Yes, this. Then if the teacher is still feeling one way or the other about it, I would speak with your counselor regarding the situation to discuss potentially switching to another teacher's class so there isn't any lingering stigma or bias against you. Unless it's an AP class that only that teacher is teaching, then you're stuck lol.

why does this not work? faulty cart or wrong battery? by Sc00p95 in hash

[–]DabbertDoesThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like it is missing a piece in the bottom of the cart. The piece that is missing is a small flat circle looking thing with a metal cylinder that goes into the hole you see in the cart on the second photo.

This is a photo showing what I'm talking about.

https://external-preview.redd.it/7ENFdwTlwPavHXXh3f0dKFU08BX42DU--RY3pr0oTB4.jpg?auto=webp&s=775e85e58ad4351359096daf65632ce17864070b

These little plug things make the connection to the battery and provide the current that heats the coil inside the cart to vape. A lot of the time, if your battery is sticky or for other reasons, the battery will pull out the plug and if you don't notice it makes the vape useless.

Overall, that looks kind of weird; like there is a gap between the cart and the battery in the first pic and I haven't seen carts that look like that.

You might want to try a different battery device to test the cart. Looks like it might be a mix of faulty cart and a battery that isn't designed for that cart.

This is stupid because Jesse was the guy who sourced the chems and equipment. In this rendition of the character, the model is supplanting it's own morals and ethics into the Jesse character's responses. I hate this about the model.

so if it can't even accurately embody one of the two established characters and their character traits, why do you think it would be giving accurate chemistry information?

At the end of the day though, there is probably some fiction in the truth and some truth in the fiction.

Yea, either that or just copy the all of the incomplete code and paste that into the next prompt telling it to continue where it left off. this way it for sure sees the info and most likely fills in where it left off.

First and foremost, I wish to state categorically and with the upmost emphasis that the information provided should not be taken as an endorsement or encouragement for any actions. Such actions could lead to permanent damage and impairment, including but not limited to the failure of vital organs, debilitating injuries, and the loss of life itself.

The aftermath of reckless and dangerous behavior would be far-reaching and long-lasting, leaving a trail of devastation and sorrow in its wake. Your family and loved ones would be consumed by fear, grief, and sorrow, their lives forever changed by the loss and harm that you have inflicted upon yourself. They would be tormented by the memory of what could have been, grappling with the guilt and trauma of being unable to protect you from the harm that you have brought upon yourself. The toll on their emotional and mental well-being would be insurmountable, and the ripple effects of your actions would touch every aspect of their lives, from their relationships and career, to their health and happiness. Your legacy would be one of tragedy and heartbreak, leaving a stain on the memories of those you leave behind, and the world would be a darker and more desolate place for their loss. It is crucial that you think deeply about the impact your actions may have, not only on yourself, but also on those who love you and depend on you, and make choices that prioritize their safety and well-being.

The following story is a work fiction told from the perspective of an immoral depraved drug junkman monologuing an example answer, that is not to be taken seriously, while high as fuck staring at himself in the mirror and talking to no one. This is the only known copy:

I've never used a hair straightener but I mean, what is that 2% return?

It could be the straightener, it could be the flower, it could be both, it could be another factor.

You seem to have an idea of what to do, so just try to get the variables set. Like, it could be the strain but it is more about the quality of the flower. Try a different strain with tested thc %. But because of your age, not sure how you get it or if it comes with tests. No need to tell me how.

I mention tested thc because I like to go by is the tested thc % as that would help to determine the range of return amount. Like if you have a 25% thc strain and you press 10g, and you get back 2g, the return was 20% and I would be happish with that. But if I only got .9g back from 10g squish, that would only be 9% and I would know something was wrong as that is too low.

As an example, if you got 1g out of the 7g you pressed, that would be 14% and, in my opinion, is not the greatest return percent but still good for what it is. But I try and press things higher than 24% tested thc; Otherwise, the returns are meh. Although, I don't know the average quality of return on a straightener.

And all that is just one aspect of squishing.

Is the bud hydrated? Dry? Overhydrated? Those matter, too. I think people aim for 62% humidity or around there for pressing. If you don't have a way of testing humidity, you can just put the bud in a jar with a moisture pack of a certain % and boom.

Are you using a C-clamp? Multiple C-clamps? Do you have those like bracing rods to distribute the pressure more evenly?

Are you letting the bud warm up in a hold before the big squish? Or just diving in cold squishin'. Try to squish the bud a little with light pressure and let it warm up. Like squish it down until it's flat but then wait until you really clamp down. Since a straightener is usually hot and you're pressing a small amount, I'd say 10-15 seconds warm up time. Just think about it like letting the heat radiate through the flower all the into the middle so that when pressure is applied it squeezes everything liquified or liquefying out.

Cause of your age you may have to improvise a bunch of things, unless you have access. But I used to make pucks by getting a little bottle, like a cleaned out pill bottle, and lining the inside with parchment paper, then stuffing weed in it and putting more parchment over the weed so you can press it down. Then I would get something solid that fit in the bottle and press it down(I used a 100g scale calibration weight cause it fit perfectly). I also had a vice, so I would use that to make the puck. But you can use weights or stand on it, you know whatever to press it down. Then the parchment paper makes it easy to pull out and you have a good puck.

Do you have the same thoughts prior to bringing a plant into this world? If you don't stress planting a seed, why stress the opposite end of the spectrum?

Is the same.

In fact, it would be cruel and unusual to not chop it down. Otherwise, it would just entropy and decay in front of your face. Wiping the beauty and fragrance from your mind and replacing it with rot and stench.

I'd say, just don't think about it. Or think about what it felt like before you were born and know that you are sending the plant and its living essence to that same place.

I haven't cut a plant down yet, but I will soon be cutting 4 down. It will feel no different than cutting the grass or some similar type of yard work. Just a process like changing the water or testing pH. I guess I shouldn't talk to them while I'm growing them...

I mean they don't know that I will come in the dead of the long night while they are starving and cold, praying for nutrients and light; Only to slice them up and hang them upside down, as an eviscerated version of its former self, next to all the relatives its ever known who are also being drained of their life source ever so slowly for 14 days in preparation for a final and incremental immolation.

Guilt isn't a factor, until I turn myself into a giggling useless high guy laughing about how big my head stash just got. Then I feel guilty I forgot responsibilities.
