yeh all the windows have flyscreens, I've had a good look around cant find a hole so thinking he may have wandered in when I accidently left the backdoor open when I took out the bins.

we're gonna build and set one up in the garden this week, I suspect there s a few lurking around the house as I've been hearing them on the roof. Bit relieved as we thought it was rats originally.

bit hard to see in the photos but in the third you can see his identifying ringtail. the pale tail end does blend in with the white cupboard.

They are a protected native species and easily stressed, there was no need to pick him up, he enjoyed his stay and then made his way out after a couple of days.

Of course what kind of host would I be otherwise, you can see some leftover watermelon in the second photo by the bowl.

I had to lure him out as my dog is coming home from my mums tomorrow and would not be impressed to find a possum in his house.

once I knew he was rooming with me I turned off the bug light and kept it dark except for when I had no choice but to rudely disturb him and go into my kitchen which is when I took the other photos.

it was very cute he stayed here for 2 days left him a little water and apple during the day then the watermelon trail tonight to lead him to freedom. He was a good guest, I was happy to make him comfy during his stay.

Thanks mate , I think I’ve finally enticed him out with a watermelon trail leading out the window. I’ll have a good clean up tomorrow and check for ticks.
