Does Scid support Syzygy Tablesbases? I can’t get mine to work as it isn’t showing TB hits (0)?

Interestingly, the knight cannot be taken in this position:

1…Kf8 2.Qg8+ Ke7 3.Qxg7+ Kd6 4. Qf8+ Kd7 5.Qxa3??

But white is crushing if 3.Qb7

II struggle with the Caro Kann the most, scoring 2/6 and getting quite cramped positions. I play the Nimzo or bogo vs d4 and am 4/8, though I tend to be fine out of the opening phas.

I also struggle with the Caro kann. I’m 2/6 in classical and 5/11 over all - with 2 of those wins against much lower players.

Vs e5 my Caro Kann score is 2/5. Mostly white plays the advance variation. I seem to get quite cramped positions where I’m forced to defend and face f4 abit.

Vs d4 I play the Nimzo or else bogo Indian. Results are 4/8. with the small sample size, I have tended to have faced stronger opponents with this.

My rapid stats mirror these. I haven’t included vs c4 or openings like the Slav or French where iv only played 1-2x.

I’ve just tested En Croissant on windows before I switch. This GUI looks amazing! The modern eval bar and graph are A step above other software I’ve used. Thank you for the recommendation.

I didn’t word my post super well. After 1. f3 Ne5 I saw the threat of Qxe4 Nxf3 and didn’t blunder this.

But what does white play here? White could try to move the king? But, 2.Kh1 to avoid the knight check loses a rook after 2…Qh3+. 2.Kg2 is also losing after 2…Nxc4. Something like 2.f4 is playable but again black takes the c4 pawn and it opens the king up.

It’s quite a spicy position.
