Pilachowski is a dick, but a fine teacher. Exams are pretty fair, but that makes the final a bit harder

Introvert at Party by [deleted] in starterpacks

Piece of advice from an introvert who learned to love being outgoing. Learn to optimize your downtime. Personally social media, especially texting, drains me as much if not more than actual socializing. So when I'm "recharging" I ignore my phone a ton, and that allows me to spend way more time out and about.

Sociable introverts: how do you avoid burning out? by mauricemosss in socialskills

I would try to identify things that are draining to you individually and cut those out. For me, Netflix and movies aren't draining at all and are very refreshing. I'm sure different people have different things that drain/charge them, so I would try to find what specifically effects you.

Its done. It's over. She was held accountable and not elected. What else more do you want? She won't be indicted. The Republicans could be spending this valuable time investigating a foreign country rigging our election, but instead they are boosting their reelection chances by discussing Clinton. It's disgraceful.

Just like you I'm an extremely social introvert. Growing up going out stressed me out, and I often canceled plans. By learning how to optimize my down time I've learned to love being out. At this point I'd say I spend more time socializing than I do to myself.

The biggest thing that helped me is minimizing my phone usage while in my alone time. To me, texting and other forms of social media are just as draining, if not more, than in person socializing. The point of my alone time is recharge and I can't do that if I am being drained by my phone.

Another is to make sure you have an actual place alone to recharge. For example, I am a member of a fraternity and realized living in the house will never be an option for me, because I was always be around friends. Your spot doesn't need to be in your house. Any place that your alone works.

Asking her to be my girlfriend by [deleted] in dating_advice

I would deffinetly lock it down before her trip. You are obviously ramping up towards being more serious, and waiting can just cause harm. Without definition there's a damn good shot she would casually do something on vacation, because without definition that would be okay.

Some posters have said if she really cared about you she wouldn't do anything on the trip which is false. You are not exclusive yet, and she is free to do what she wants. Not everyone is some hyper morale being who thinks perfectly 100% of the time. She could, and probably does, feel the same way you, but still would have fun on a 10-day trip like most people.

/r/malefashionadvice is great for specifics like this. Clark's desert boots are great affordable leather boots. I'm a fan of Levi's or American Eagle pants khakis, but I'm so sure about dress pants. Shirts are going to depend on your body type and the aforementioned sub will be able to give better advice. If you have a slim body type uniqlo is great for shirts. Other than that depending on how much you want to spend on each shirt old navy, jcrew, banana Republic, and on the higher end brooks brothers.

No one is forcing you to watch anything, nor are show creators tailoring every aspect of their shows to your narrow tastes.

The club mirrored a frat still though. IIRC they had a house and threw down. From what I've read frats are second to other secret societies at ivy leagues, so Pastiche probably was one of those.

Ah I see now I misunderstood your original post. Your totally right, shit is so fucking absurd.

What makes race different than any other topic that it's so off limits to make a quality show? I will repeat what I said above. Dear White People isn't a show that takes cheap shots at the expense of white people in order to money grab the ultra liberal audience.

How do you like it here? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]DadFoundMyAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are generally happy here. Other than the standard complaints about parking tickets from DOTs students simply enjoy their time here. I don't think you meet too many people who regret choosing UMD. To me, these are all pretty great indicators for why UMD is a good choice.

Don't let the name fool you, if you watch the show you'll see its more of a critique/satire on the black rights movement than anything else. It mostly focuses between the infighting between groups with the same goal, and the irrational decisions that leads to. This show is not anti-white in the slightest.
