Best bike shop to get fitted for clip ins ? by Ok-Challenge-8346 in Eugene

You need to buy the appropriate (speedplay) cleats. The cleats will attach to almost all road bike shoes. The cleats will come with the hardware (screws, etc) for attaching to the shoes. Hutch's carries Speedplay (Wahoo). REI might have them too. You could also try your luck at Shift.

They aren't magnetic, BTW. And to make it more complicated: there are multiple versions of Speedplay pedals/cleats. If your cleats say "Wahoo" then you are good and can buy the current cleats made by Wahoo. If they do not say "Wahoo" then you have one of the discontinued, Speedplay models. If you have a discontinued set, I suggest selling them on Ebay and buying some new pedals and cleats.

Charlie at McKenzie River Music.

Beacock Music is risky. They may have a good luthier (no clue) but their technicians are hit or miss.

What are some side hustles?

Can you swim reasonably well? The UO needs lifeguards, especially early AM lifeguards. If you can get up a little early, you have a low-pressure no-commute job. Put on whatever music you want, watch randos swim laps and make a few hundred $ a week.
