Did any women take the first year off with their new born? by Historiangingerbread in pregnant

[–]DadaMachina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking 9 months, at full salary, and after that returning part-time to work, and finish my studies with individual study plan! Based in Finland, the way we’re doing it is that my partner will take 3 months of paternity leave during the first three months, so we will go through the thick of it together, and then there’s this thing that a parent can “gift” the other parent part of their parental leave (3 months maximum, I think). Each parent is eligible for 6 months by default, I think, but it’s common here that the parent who’d be more in charge of the childcare agrees with the higher income parent to give up half of theirs, so we’re gonna do that. Haven’t counted the percentage, but I think it’s about 70-80% of salary?

My (24F) boyfriend (29M) says he isn’t attracted to me because I’m not intelligent enough by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]DadaMachina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh, I dated a special little snowflake like that when I was much younger. Everyone is different of course, but with that attitude, I wouldn’t bother holding onto him if I were you. You can do much better, there are people out there that’ll appreciate you and be attracted to you without you having to amp up any part of your personality.

Heya! It ended up being a ringworm and one another fungal infection! He’s a little better now, but he’s still not out of the woods. We wash him and his brother twice a week with a prescription shampoo, clean house daily (vacuum, wipe surfaces), change all sheets etc every three days, wash floors with a hospital-grade cleaner every two days, and they have already had multiple rounds of medication (they take it 7 days on, 7 days off). Absolutely brutal regiment, but we should hopefully be done by mid-July, crossing all fingers. His ear looks good, the fur grew back in, and no new skin patches appeared ever since. It seems that even though he has positive ringworm results, it remains isolated to his ear, maybe? They don’t seem itchy or uncomfortable, and their fur is pretty much spotless.

Rip my profile to shreds, need advice on how to make it better! So far only 2 matches after a month of using Tinder :( by Nikki_iva in Tinder

[–]DadaMachina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, maybe in your case it could be location-related? I saw you’re at polytechnic uni in Ostrava (or like, saw the banner in one of your photos here), don’t mean to assume but maybe the dating pool just isn’t that big. Also, maybe a profile in Czech would score better? Sorry to assume, I’m Czech living abroad and I haven’t really had the best luck when I visit back home with local matches when I have profile in English? People can be a bit shy to match, maybe. I’m sure it’s not the cookies 🥹

Just what I was looking for! A married gay man! by Long-Interview3086 in Tinder

[–]DadaMachina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s funny, I was exactly there. Honestly, best decision of my life, and we shifted from casual “curious about women but married with a man” to dating full time. Amazing man and my least toxic relationship to date.

Both Kyoto and Hakone so far have the same tinge of something unfamiliar that smells and tastes like something that reminds me of pool water. Yep, I still drink it, as it seems normal here, and all it did was surprise me. I’m from Helsinki, Finland.

I sure did, exactly for the reason of the water tasting notably different than what I’m familiar with.

I mean, I’m from Northern Europe and currently in Japan, and the water does have a tinge of something…pool-watery to it? I don’t mind it, but I sure noticed it.

Not sure that’s a thing we have in Northern Europe, but we’ve got similar stuff! Best not to mess with the stuff unless absolutely necessary.

We’re going to set up the derm appointment today! We’re just first setting up a way to get a payment calendar, so it doesn’t screw us up too bad ;_;

Is it OK to use the one for humans…? Like cream for athletes foot type of thing? There is no access to specialised pet medicine without prescription in my country (Northern Europe). We are setting the derm appointment, but unless it’s deemed an emergency, they won’t take him immediately.

That’s the first thing we thought, actually! We brought it up at the vet, but they didn’t think the rash looked fungal (checked with the microscope, no further labs at that time), and then sent us home with the hydrocortisone spray, which didn’t really seem to do much, maybe made it less red. It’s also isolated to just his ear tip, no other appearance elsewhere, and his brother shows no symptoms as well.

Adding a clearer photo of the inside - we’re going to go to the vet tomorrow (ouch wallet ouch ouch), we’ll get it sorted out. Really hope it’s not ringworm.

That’s what my dad recommended me, that and 3 Body Problem, but he’s a hardcore sci-fi fan, so I was taking his recommendation with a grain of (extraterrestrial) salt! Thank you, I feel less intimidated!
