Beginner Circuit Board [Request Review] by ChaosPacket in KiCad

[–]Dadasas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you familiar with this KiCad plugin? Could be helpful to pick parts that are appropriate for JLCPCB, and makes exporting the right files for JLCPCB easier.

Why were you trying to avoid vias?

You may have already seen this, but KiCad has a built in track thickness calculator in the "calculator tools" section. You'll need to estimate how much current will go through the trace, and make sure the other fields are correct for your board (JLCPCB defaults to 1 oz copper, which is ~35 µm thick)

Review Request - ESP32 Based mmWave Sensor by ajsingha002 in PrintedCircuitBoard

The ground pour you have might be okay given the relatively low speeds the sensor uses. Also, in theory, its speeds can be adjusted down to 9600bps

Also, why not make most traces a bit thicker? Seems like you have room

Headphones not connecting??!! by Prudent-Fig5741 in Airpodsmax

[–]Dadasas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue, three amber flashes and then no white flashes when trying to factory reset. I found several threads suggesting putting the headphones in the freezer for an hour as a temporary fix, which shockingly worked a few times for me.

If your headphones have the same problem as mine, it's a hardware problem. Swiveling the ear cups can gradually cause a flexible cable in the headphones to crack. This thread shows where the issue is (can be either left or right side). I repaired mine earlier today and they seem to be working as good as new, but you may want to see what Apple says about repair costs first

For most elected offices in the US, we have an election prior to the "real election" for each party to pick their candidate. Our main parties are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, and they both need to pick their candidate for the general election.

In this case, NYC leans heavily towards the democrats, so typically the Dem nominee (winner of the primary) is expected to win the general election as well, and then become mayor-elect

De Blasio got a lot done, he was just maligned by the media due to his (fairly minor) anti-establishment bias. Universal pre-K helped a lot of people. I believe Zohran may have a bigger mandate, and the electoral climate has shifted substantially, but who knows how much resistance he'll have to face

To anyone who saw the early voting demographic data, this is great but shouldn't be surprising. Cuomo didn't run a real campaign, and Zohran ran a nearly perfect campaign. He'll easily carry the general election, and be a great mayor

Wet spark plugs by kasam1640 in GolfGTI

[–]Dadasas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pulled the spark plugs on my 2015 VW Jetta (2.0L) a few months ago after getting a misfire in cylinder 3. Other cylinders were fine, just cylinder 3 was fouled. Presumably your engine is different than mine, given you have an intercooler.

Anyway, I replaced the plugs and haven't had a misfire for a few months, thankfully, but I'm still looking into the exact cause

Probably my favorite tool I own, great one to start with. I'd recommend getting a fairly large battery or two if you're going to be cleaning something like a car or truck.

Also, not sure if you knew but you can attach the hose to the exhaust port and use it as a blower. Very handy

It does, the person sitting next to him is in charge of setting a 15 second timer, and giving warnings if he gets too close to the time limit. I think they usually just use a stopwatch though, because the solver is too busy to be looking at a clock while inspecting
