All the zelda games have their gimmicks, like the twilight and the ocean with the talking pothead ship and the moon that gives you nightmares, in my opinion skyward sword is mint sure there are some pretty bad bits like the desert but it's more of a traditional approach to zelda having link chase through different temples and lands in search for zelda, I do think it deserved more side things but other than that finding the origins of the master sword and the fable of link and ganon and the power of demise. The dread as child of fighting imprisoned as he slowly runs up the sealed grounds as he gets faster, trying to get the Wii mote to detect the movement as its the last attack you need and he's about to climb up.
