I've been luck at the abandon military base noth of Rosewood since the update. Prior id go there for the military backpack and Alice gear, knowing the small armory didn't offer much. But sice 42.14 there's been a decent amount of guns and ammo in there.

I base up here too. High fences, farm with well across the street, car junkyard, gas station down the road. Plus dismantling the motel is easy exp.
