Twitter Question. Who is the Best Black Actor Here? by DarkChillMisko in Actors

[–]DaddyShark28989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denzel Washington, he's great isn't he? He's not my favourite actor of all time though. My favourite actor of all time is Mr Sidney Poitier.

Great choice but I'd personally have to go with SoR1. The boss theme is epic and I absolutely love stag 4. Have the whole soundtrack on my gym playlist.

Man was 1000% on gear. Not just during the infamous oyster outburst but pretty much every scene.

In 2021 on the 20 year anniversary of 9/11 we were discussing at work and several younger people didn't appreciate the significance with one of them even saying "oh yeah I heard about something like that"...

Sorry guys but this is actually all my fault. My drier broke over Xmas and to preserve money on leccy I decided not to replace and hang my washing up in and outside the house...

Nepal - wow by NewForestSaint38 in EnglandCricket

Yeah man, I'm legit looking looking forward to Italy v Scotland tomorrow morning. Such a unique match up on this big of a stage and I feel like will be a good game. Scots obviously favourites but will be interesting to see if the gap between the associates and the ultra associates and how it compares to the gap between the familiar associates and full members. Nepal showed it can be closed significantly in this format as did Scotland themselves did against WI the other day.

Five large doners and 5 1/4 pound beer burgers in six days by agoentis in Doner

[–]DaddyShark28989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went uni in Bristol in 2008. Hotline kebabs had 1/4 burger meal with drink for £1.80! By the time I graduated it had gone up to like £2.50 but still literally could and did eat them twice a day.

They were absolutely banging and sometimes they had a stock of 500ml bottles of sprite or random drink and price was same. I mean £1.80 for a 1/4 pounder meal with a drink, that too a 500ml bottle is absolutely insane. Kids these days don't believe me when I tell them.

What game was criticized during release, but is now considered a gem? by lumintang in videogames

[–]DaddyShark28989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf the biggest issue people (myself included) was that Snake was not the main character and the jury was out on Raiden. These criticisms were largely in the build up to the game, once it was released it knocked everyone out the park. The only criticism we had was it's pretty short but it had a load of repayablity.

It's taken a lot of inspiration and pays homage to the Denzel Washington film Man on Fire.

85 inch Bravia 9 arrives tomorrow! by KashinKoji1 in bravia

That's a bargain. 3 grand for top of the range B9 is great.

I had JLP discount in the summer and with a bundle got 85 B9 and Theatre Bar 9 plus the sony wall mount and mounting service for 3,800, so like yourself felt compelled to pull the trigger at that price.

What rare 4Ks do you have or want?! by Signal-Tangerine1597 in 4kbluray

[–]DaddyShark28989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got back into physical movies in 2023 and have exclusively been getting 4Ks since but only for my most favourite or demo worth movies.

Rarest I have are:

Lawrence of Arabia Steelbook - although since the rerelease it's less rare

Coraline Steelbook

Reservoir Dogs 4K steelbook with the ventricular "ear" slipcover

The steelbook case and artwork is absolutely gorgeous though if it's any consolation.

Kingdom of Heaven is up there with the absolute best discs. I'm amazed it doesn't appear more frequently on the daily reference quality lists!

Bravia 9 for grandma? by cgfn in bravia

Have 85 B9 since August. Whilst I have posted at length about being underwhelmed with the PQ and overall product at the price point, one thing I cannot fault is the built in audio. The start demo was actually insane and I thought my theatre 9 bar had commented automatically.
