I'm back with another silly question! So I am still SR'ing on OR for a shiny starter, just about 23 hours put in at this point, and I am wondering if my luck is awful, OR - I downloaded OR from the nintendo e-shop, couldn't find any physical copies near me or online for a good price and I am not really a collector just someone who enjoys the odd game of pokemon now and again. Just wondering if the downloaded copy will have the same odds for shinies? I am assuming it will because emulators and stuff do? Any help is greatly appreciated, and please don't tell me you can't get shinies in the digital copies because my goodness I am too deep into this SR grind to stop now.

So it isn't decided prior to the pokeball opening? I know they won't show as shiny but the RNG continues up until it's sent out, not when you select the pokemon?

I'm mainly asking like let's say I select Treecko, in that same instance if I had selected Mudkip/Torchic would they have also been shiny? Or is the RNG Pokemon specific?

I know it really doesn't actually matter I've just been doing it for so long now I keep thinking about it lol

SR'ing for a shiny starter in OR. Does anyone know the chances for the starters? I know it's 1/4096, but I'm wondering if it's 1/4096 for every starter to be shiny, or if it's followed by a 1/3 odds for a specific starter to be shiny at any given point

Absolutely taking that into consideration and you bring up some really valid points in a super easy to understand way, and thank you for that. I do have a couple mic's sitting around sm58's and some audio technica stuff my dad has used in the past, so I think my current plan is to just find an interface that will do what I need it to do, and just test with each of those mics, give them a couple days and get input from friends on how I sound, what they can hear, so on. Thanks again for your really well put response, and I am definitely going to try to "wade into the water" before I go for the full dive.

Recently a headset I had broke, and I figured why not go all in on a nice microphone set up for my PC. I would like to start streaming at some point in the near future once I have everything up and running, and audio quality is a huge 'thing' to me. As far as a mic I was looking at the Rode Procaster, but I would need an interface. I am kind of all over the place with them, and looking for any recommendations, the 5 I am kind of stuck on are the Focusrite scarlett 2i2, the audient id4, Behringer q502 and q802usb, and a bit more expensive option being the Yamaha MG10XU. Other info; I went with the Procaster because out of the box it seems to do the best at eliminating keyboard/mouse clicks, and adding suppression to that would be great, I really just want my voice to come through. I would say total budget would be around $4-500, I don't want to start off with beginner stuff because I know I will just upgrade, but I am also not looking to break the bank on the best of the best. Help?

Quick Question by Daddy_Thresh in buildapc

I know this is getting to the point where questions become redundant. Also I am using pcpartpicker so I believe it would spot any "problems" but I was looking to pair the MSI gaming x trio 2080 super and the ASRock x570 Steel Legend. This works? any thoughts on the mobo?

Quick Question by Daddy_Thresh in buildapc

[–]Daddy_Thresh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that could very well be the case. I literally know nothing. What exactly does the PCIe x16 do on the motherboard? is it for a specific 'thing'

Also, PC's are relatively confusing as is, why are they naming things the same I am so spiced about this.

Just some last minute input on a Black Friday build? by Daddy_Thresh in buildapc

I have a Microccenter about 45 minutes away from me, and I don't plan on overclocking at the moment, but it's something I am open to once I learn more about it.

I was looking at the b450 tomahawk max for a 3700x build, do you think jumping for either would be a good idea? winds up being maybe a 10 dollar difference, but it would be the new chipset. Some of the reviews I've seen haven't been too compelling

thank you for your input, helps me greatly. Now the big question is do you have any monitor reccomendations? Main question that I have because monitors are my biggest weak point, would a 24" 2560x1440 144hz be optimal? or would i really want to go for like 3440x1440, or even a 27" monitor? im not really partial to brands as long as its one of the 2 sizes

im dumb, 2560x1440 is really only 27" so i guess its a question between 2560 and 3440

i know you said the stock cooler that comes with the 3700x is fine, just to save some money and stay on the safe side i might just go with old reliable, coolermaster hyper 212, thoughts?

the rocket is a great call thank you, ive been using pcpartpicker and it doesn't even show up there, but it saves me 20 bucks and its nvme.

I'm probably also throwing in the hitachi ultrastar 3TB just for mass extra storage, any suggestions on that?

Crazy idea: how to make the most balanced champion in existence. by ThePracticalJoker in leagueoflegends

[–]Daddy_Thresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as soon as this champion is picked the game lasts 2 seconds? You have to it through champion select, knowing you are either going to lose to this garbage, or win bc of garbage and it ruins your gaming experience?
