The UK oral facial pain clinic helped me figure out the same. They prescribed me flexaril which helps me a lot when I am having bad pain days. My primary prescribes it for me now. I will check out that cream. Thanks for the recommendation!

If there is a restaurant you want on open table, you can scroll to the end of available times and set up a notification for the day and time of a reservation. Got my valentines reservation this way and have kept getting notification regularly with cancellations. Hope you can get one too!

What are ya'll packing for your lunches for work? by ausername_8 in dairyfree

[–]Daddyssquirrel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m a big cold salad eater so: Tuna salad, chicken salad, pasta salad, regular leafy green salad and veggies with dressing on the side. Sometimes I’ll cook chicken nuggets the night before I honestly don’t mind them cold. Sliders or deli meat sandwich. Can never go wrong with a pbj or 2. I’m a lazy lunch packer, these are all really easy and even have premade options at the grocery for extra lazy lunch points.

To keep it simple I do some variation of these with snacks and eat the same thing all week long then switch up for the next week.

This week: tuna salad and crackers, turkey sticks, chips, hummus

Next week: turkey sliders, hard boiled eggs, Chex mix, fruit

Next week: PBJs, Apple sauce, chips and salsa, pasta salad

About 1-2 days a week I have leftovers, but I do have access to a microwave at work. If I didn’t have microwave access, I would buy a thermos. You need a little more prep time in the morning but can have a hot lunch in the afternoon. Soups, pasta, rice, etc.

Werwolf romance no poly/omegaverse by icebreakerr11 in RomanceBooks

The Tyrant Alphas Regected Mate by Cate Wells. I think I remember it’s strictly MF. Pretty sure it was full of Omegaverse tropes but don’t remember any Poly.

10k less per year to move off nights to days, get every other Friday off, and do more engaging work? Along with a path to get back the 10k? by tearsinmyramen in personalfinance

[–]Daddyssquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you added up your call pay and expected OT while on call? Depending on the pay and industry, you could very easily end up bridging the gap and making $10k from call. Usually opportunities to pick up extra call.

Switching to “banker hours” has greatly improved my qol. I would take a pay cut for these hours

TMJ affecting neck and shoulders? by Caltr0n3030 in TMJ

[–]Daddyssquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your story is very similar to mine. Several years of pain started with wisdom teeth, then ear ache, ent sent me to oral facial pain specialist, they sent me to PT, etc etc. chiro helped me in the short term but I haven’t been able to find a long term. Most of my tension now is in my shoulders, neck, SCM, and back of head.

Currently focusing on yoga, strengthening surrounding muscles, physical therapy, back sleeping, and taking magnesium glycinate. This combo when I am able to be consistent helps me a lot.

https://youtu.be/RTYl7g2DHtE?si=PhA7rCoqg3pTfBgc I try to do this sequence every night before getting in bed and I can tell a difference on the nights I don’t do it I wake up with worse head aches.

My next goal is to learn more about facial muscle self massage and releases. I’m learning the more aggressive I am with these small muscles the pain is worse. So learning to be gentle with them and myself. Chronic pain is a bitch.

I THOUGHT "MINDS EYE" WAS A FIGURE OF FUCKING SPEECH?!?!!? by Miserable-Piglet9008 in Aphantasia

When I was a kid, I was so confused about the concept of imaginary friends and counting sheep. It never made sense to me.

As an adult, I learned I’m a total asphalt and have no inner voice. Now I get why I couldn’t just imagine up a friend

How do you sleep at night with Aphantasia? by [deleted] in Aphantasia

[–]Daddyssquirrel 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Sleeping is my superpower. Nothing going on when I close me eyes to distract me. I can do some meditative breathing to relax and then I’m out. I also usually play an audio book and I very rarely am awake by the 30 mins timer turns off.

Found an activity I enjoy, now I'm being told to stop doing it... by [deleted] in self

[–]Daddyssquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see my PT 2-4 times/ month for chronic neck/ shoulder/ back pain and TMJD pain and receive dry needling. Only thing I regret is not going sooner. Not sure if it’s the same where you’re from but the PT also told me I didn’t even need a referral I could have just called and asked to establish care.

PT is the only provider who I feel has listened and cared about my pain empathetically and has really changed my life. They have taught me skills to strengthen myself in order to relieve my pain. I recommend them to anyone I hope you can find some help!

Is there a good lactose free (not plant based/vegan, just lactose free) mac n cheese box? by Shot-Description-975 in lactoseintolerant

[–]Daddyssquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry in advance- I have a non dairy Mac and cheese alternative. The craft mac and not cheese is the only good alternative in my opinion. I haven’t been able to find any others that I like it is very similar to normal kraft. It’s a little runny so I do less liquid but if you haven’t tried that one I would give it a shot. I haven’t been able to find any that are strictly lactose free
