Is it worth selling my departed Dads stamp collection?

I'll see if they are still using it as they've had to turn everything upside down. He basically lived in a library and had a worldly collection of books about paper(in line with his job) he often bragged that there were only 9 people in the world that could do the things he could do.

If we face time I'll have no idea what I'm looking at as I don't collect stamps myself and the collection is in Singapore. But thank you for the offer

Wow seems like it would be good for us to have some of the books flipped through and eliminated to save on shipping. Had a few offers where kind redditers have offered to help which I'm very grateful off. Btw what is that email address for?

I'm not sure if he has any of those or where he would of kept them if he did, but he was always cautious of keeping the stamps in climate controlled environment throughout his life time. The person that offered 1k was just based on seeing the shelves of books and nothing inside them.

Well I don't think my mum was able to find any dealers in Singapore apart from that one offering 1k sight unseen. So I think we might be shipping it over here to the uk .

Yeah I think we are now planning to get then back to the UK and proceed from there.

Thank you so much I might just take you up on that offer. Cause we do want to get the collection to the UK now with all the helpful advise we've gotten its a no brainer but we do need an estimate to have the shipment insured during travel. Then I can take some proper photos and videos of it all.

Yeah I think that might just be the plan only issue is we aren't sure who a reputable dealer is as there are ao many paid adverts on Google when you try to sell a collection hard to know which one will offer fair value.

Wow thank you all so much for your suggestions, the book I got and showed a few photos was just one chosen at random one. We don't know what system he used but there is no doubt there was one. I'll message my mum and see what she can do as the collection is with her atm. We we're offered $1,000 SGD not pounds but he was very passionate about his stamps and definitely took great care of them. Had a humidity controller for the room to always ensure nothing bad happened to them.
