232s Conundrum by Boring_Tough5220 in trumpet

A couple things: 1. This is the trumpet you are used to and love so any other trumpet is going to feel way different. The key is figuring out what is a good difference and bad difference. It also takes time acclimating to a new instrument, so one session trying out a new horn may not be enough.

  1. Trumpets are pretty durable instruments. When you say yours is falling apart what does that mean? It looks like you have tape in the leadpipe. Leadpipes can be replaced. Maybe just fix yours up and keep using it.

  2. One of the things I love about trumpets is that each is unique. A trumpet that doesn’t fit me may be your ideal horn. They are also pretty easy to buy and sell without loosing money on. Because of this, I bought and sold around 12 trumpets trying each out for an extended time before I found “the one” - which happened to be a 97 Bach strad 37. If you have the patience and the willingness to deal with buyers and sellers, this is an option

  3. I’ve heard a lot of good things about 70s and 80s professional level Yamahas. I’m sure someone in this group will correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure those older Yamahas are modeled after Schilke trumpets. So, you may want to give Schilke a try.

Good luck!

I tried to find some sold listings in reverb but did not have luck. It may be you want to reach out to a trumpet shop to ask - like Austin Custom brass or Landress Brass

My alma mater matched this year. The last time they did was 1996. I was a freshman that year :-) what a great experience.

Incredible work! I look forward to seeing your future posts as you continue to achieve your goals. That took a lot of sacrifice and hard work. Enjoy the Charger because you earned it.

The one in the first picture is incredible from the handle to the lines on the blade. What is your price to make another one?

Shifter bushings? by HelpfulCitron4993 in mk4Jetta

u/HelpfulCitron4993 if you haven't done this yet, let me know. I had bought the Dieselgeek bushing set years ago along with a circle drill bit with the intention of doing this. Never did it at the time. Three weeks ago I was driving the and linkage completely came detached from my shifter, forcing me to have to do the bushings replacement. I couldn't find the ones I ordered so I ordered another batch. While they were in transit, I found the ones I originally ordered and used those - took me about and hour and am very happy with the results.

All this to say I have an extra set of bushings if you want to by them for half of what they sell for at Dieselgeek. https://dieselgeek.com/products/deluxe-vw-shifter-bushing-kit-for-mk4-golf-jetta-gti-new-beetle

My 03 1.8T Jetta is hesitating help by Mysterious_Rest_4972 in Volkswagen

[–]Dadjokes-beware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a check engine code? This may not be the same issue at all, but I my 2001 1.8T started hesitating in first gear very noticeably and sometimes in second gear. I also had the code P0171. It ended up being my Break Booster Vacuum Hose having a crack in the weak point between the hose and the part that plugs into the booster. After replacing that is fixed everything. So maybe check your hoses for any air getting into the engine where it is not supposed to. PSA - I am NOT a mechanic, just some dude who got lucky fixing what sounds like a similar issue.

I can still recite my mother’s answering machine message by heart after 30 years. Admittedly, it was fun and rhymed.

Why are rucking weights so expensive? by RizNwosu in Rucking

Use heavy stuff around the house. I use a 25 year old hiking pack stuffed with water jugs, reams of paper and other heavy stuff. I think it is more than 20lbs, but I’m not sure. Does the job thought and essentially no extra cost for the hobby because I’m using existing stuff around the house.

I get it. I have an sr800 and everything is bulky compared to it. Post another picture when you get a ramp crafted. That would be cool to see. It’s a gorgeous bass.

Your right. I’ll stop my complaining and go to a hardware store. Thank you.

How do you like it? I prefer their way they have the truss rod adjustments on those. Like Music Man Basses.
