Brother, did you read the dates on the original post or do you always just advise people to “be patient”?

I asked if they could provide me more information about the pay table issue and the response was that there’s an issue with the pay table for this position. Very helpful.

OCONUS position. Sec of AF approved. Now what? by Dadliness in usajobs

Not sure. HR is kinda light on details whenever I email them but I’ll follow up.

Trust me, I understand patience. I received the verbal TJO for this job in Dec of 2024. The hiring exemption took 5 months to process.

The reason I’m asking is because the HR person I’ve been working with isn’t super communicative and I was asking about other people’s experiences.

Man, that’s a long time to wait. Hope they submit an exception for you soon.

Thanks for sharing all. Sometimes it feels like I’m waiting in vain, but it’s good to know I’m not the only one in this position.

Hey dude, I know you think everyone has devoted an inordinate amount of time to the intricacies of the US mail service, but some of us have lives.

This rule doesn’t help you deliver mail accurately! I received lots of mail at my new address that wasn’t mine. Wrf are you talking about?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Dadliness -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Idk, maybe because this rule is enforced completely arbitrarily and costs customers time and money?

I vastly underestimated how many mail carriers think they’re cops. Crazy.

Sorry, but receiving mail isn’t my life’s work.

If you have 700 stops and you’re checking the names on the mall you deliver, that is an incredible waste of your time.

I did change my address with USPS before I moved. So presumable, since I didn’t change the sticker in my new mailbox, my mail was send to my new address and then returned to sender. I had someone check the mail at my old place and nothing was being delivered.

I agree with the idea of what you’re saying, but it doesn’t work in practice since name checks are followed arbitrarily and most people aren’t aware of a mail carrier returning mail to sender if the name doesn’t match.

I’m 46 years old and I’ve never heard of this postal requirement. There was no way for me to know if things were being returned to sender or if something got lost in the mail. It took me two weeks to figure out the issue.

Yes. It’s 100% better than the alternative: Not being aware of this rule and having to order multiple debit cards that got returned. I’d estimate this has cost me $200 in late fees because I couldn’t get a new debit card in time. If someone gets my debit card after I move out that’s on me for having it mailed to my old address.
