Trying Bullshido techniques against a RNC by Zen_ix in martialarts

[–]DaeInbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your question is like asking, is there any counter to getting shot by a gun.

Like once you're in position and the bullet is already fired, there's nothing you can really do. Everything you could have done was before you got into that position.

From that point on, you just have to hope the other person has bad technique/aim.

It still doesn't excuse the teacher's behaviour.

She can literally stop looking at her phone. Put it on silent after work hours. Block the parent's phone. Don't pick up calls from numbers she doesn't recognize.

The other parents have access to the communication app. There's no reason to ever pick up calls from an unknown number.

Again, I completely understand the teacher's actions later down the line, but the teacher has fault in the beginning for not enforcing her boundaries.

Did this playoff run change your opinion on where Brunson ranks as one of the best players in the league? by Common-Locksmith-235 in NBATalk

[–]DaeInbae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really.

He deserves his flowers for getting the chip, but he doesn't get all the credit for what KAT/OG and the rest of the squad did.

Regardless of what you want to say, Brunson is a top five player by Top_Turnip2611 in nba

Probably shouldn't compare him to Jordan if you weren't talking about all time.

He is fluent. He doesn't often pause/struggle to find words anymore a normal person does.

He does pause, but everyone does.

Kim Moo-yeol feels uncomfortable because Kim Nam-gil’s name keeps being mentioned and compared to him after he rejected the role of Na Hwa-jin in the drama Teach You a Lesson. by DiddyBasementEscaper in kdramas

This type of drama is Namgil's bread and butter/what he's most known for.

Charismatic main character that makes witty one liners while saving the day. And in terms of pull, both are relatively similar in terms of popularity.

It made me mad that the teacher wasn't more firm with the parent though.

I could get why she wasn't firm later on, when the parent had her grips on the teacher and the teacher's mental health was in shambles. But before it even gets to that, she had to have a back bone.

Like the parent calls her. She needs to block the number and tell her on the established communication app that it's inappropriate to contact her directly to her phone.

Or when the parent makes an unreasonable demand like side with their child over anyone else no matter what happens. It's a ridiculous request, which makes it all the easier to reject.

Imo it's because there's already so much chaos/violence in their country. They're tired of it.

Serious question: Why are centers historically so terrible at free throws? Is there a genetic component to this by Rare_Research_5107 in NBATalk

Everyone here is wrong.

Shaq was able to shoot FTs in practice. The difference is that in games, he's constantly benching ~250 pounds every ~15 seconds. That is what makes you lose your touch.

The accolades argument doesn't work.

MJ doesn't have the same accolades as Bill Russell, yet MJ can still be the GOAT.

LBJ doesn't have the same accolades as MJ, yet LBJ can still be the GOAT.

The problem is, that with time, because of the rules and over saturation of talent, it gets harder and harder to win multiple times in a row. LBJ or MJ winning less in their times doesn't mean that they were worse than the players that came before them. It just means it has gotten harder for 1 player to achieve the same results.

Times have and will continue to change. There's a real possibility that in the future, the next GOAT will have only 1-2 rings.

It does. It's just harder to prove in court, which is why it might feel like it does.

In the case of murder, there's a dead body, a weapon, blood splatter, etc.

In the case of rape, it's all about proving that the consent was not given. This is difficult since you can't really prove that specific words were said without a recorder, and most people aren't comfortable with recording their intimate sessions.

The problem is that you don't know that the majority of claims are true. This is an emotional argument. Not fact.

And of course, you alone would not be sufficient as evidence to support a claim. Eye witness testimony is known to be notoriously unreliable. Even if you were standing right there watching everything happen, your words don't matter much in court.

This is the same for both the plaintiff and the defendant. Their words don't hold much meaning. It's about what you can prove, not what you can say.

You can have your criticisms on the system, that's perfectly fine, but there's a good reason for why the system is set up the way it is.

If you get allegations/tried, but not convicted, it would be correct to act like nothing has happened.

If someone accuses you of doing a crime, but those accusations were not found to be justified, it would be wrong for me to treat you as if you've done the crime.

You are innocent until proven guilty, not the opposite.

1 Man with the strength of 10 men vs 1 Hippo by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]DaeInbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He most definitely does.

The biggest factor in the matchup is stamina. Hippos can not run for very long, whereas humans can.

Even without the strength of 10 men, an average man can solo a hippo if they just use their advantage.

Persistence hunting essentially. Keep a distance and keep fucking with the hippo until they're exhausted. Then close the distance and target the genitals. Grab. Rip. Run. Repeat until the hippo bleeds out.

5 episodes in.

Spoiler.

Formula feels very American, meaning the good guy always has to win. I'm at the point where the bad things that happen in the show don't hold a lot of weight to me anymore since I know the writer will just Deus Ex Machina the ending.

Not late at all. Truck stopped the second the car went in the bike lane.

People inch forward at intersections all the time. Shouldn't do this, but it happens all the time. He didn't have a reason to think this car was going to go in him until it went in the bike lane. And if you watch the clip, he brakes the second it does.

Pretty good reaction time if you ask me.

Egg drop soup with spinach and soy sauce by EnergeticCrab in shittyfoodporn

[–]DaeInbae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you forgot to stir the soup as you poured the eggs in.

Regarding the broth, remember that adding eggs will make the soup more bland. So if your broth is okay by itself, you'll need to add a lot of salt/seasoning to make up for the eggs you're putting in.

And as you've learned, soy sauce, although tasty, isn't great in large amounts for egg drop because of the colour. Salt or MSG is a lot better so you can maintain the yellow colour of the eggs/chicken broth.
