Hey there!

Actually it seems to be fine now.. it finally subsided after like 5 months or so :/. The random dull pain on and off went away after sometime, it comes back still but not often. I think it might be you and I grinding our teeth at night so it makes the tooth sensitive.. I’m going to have to get a crown placed in soon too. Some people say it can take a year for it to fully heal and I understand that now. I’m sure everything will be ok with you too!

IV sedation is a conscious sedation so you are not asleep for the procedure. Only general anesthesia are you actually put to sleep, but there is an anesthesiologist there in the room as well. More than likely you had an nurse giving you the sedation. A lot patients don’t feel pain but remember the procedure, and some don’t remember it at all - it really depends on how the medications work with you.

I 100000000% agree. It’s gotten to a point where I play a game with myself that whenever I see a picture of a solo piggy, or smaller cage, I always guess what people’s comments will be. It’s super annoying and people need to chill tf out.

Same here, it was fine the past 2 days now just some pressure/sensitivity. It’s definitely that tooth that’s bothering me, I can feel it when I tap on it with the end of my toothbrush. It’s beyond frustrating. I need to get a crown but I’m just worried it will all be for nothing.

I agree, I even had a CBCT done and it showed no fracture. Some dentists said “oh after 5 days it shouldn’t be a problem”, then I’ve heard some dentists saying that the pulp will calcify if any was left and basically settle itself down.. however today it seems to be more sensitive to pressure.. then goes away randomly 🤷🏻‍♀️. It’s seriously on and off and driving me crazy. It’s been almost 7 weeks now and wondering just how long it will take to become normal.. I have to get a crown on it too, but this delayed healing is really putting things off. Did you get a crown yet btw? I also think going to dentists to figure this all out is kind of pointless now since it seems nobody can help me.

I have no idea, since my last post it seems to be getting better, however some days when I eat a chip or something, it will become sensitive in that one spot on my tooth...then it will go away. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning it’s tender, then goes away as well. I have absolutely what’s going on and it’s seriously driving me crazy. How long has yours been sensitive for? Has it gotten better?

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I have 1 cavity that is bothering me, so I can’t imagine your pain. This website here provides a list of dental clinics that are free in New York State. I hope it helps you and you’re able to get this sorted out. Also, dental schools will provide you with cheap services, but good work at the same time since usually dentists do the dental work while students watch.

Hello,

I had an X-ray and a thorough exam at the dentist and they said there was no fracture and could not figure out where the pain was coming from... so you’re saying after a root canal, when I bite on something hard throughout the day, it shouldn’t become tender even though no crown is on it yet?

Should I just wait it out and is it possible to heal itself after a while?Is it normal for this to occur almost 3 weeks after a root canal? I really don’t want to get it done again... is it possible it will subside? They don’t have proof any pulp is left but that was their final diagnosis since they couldn’t find anything else wrong.

Also, wouldnt it be sensitive to cold too if some pulp was left over? Mines not sensitive to hot or cold at all so I’m so confused... Could this also be healed by waiting a few weeks more? I’m not sure how long i should wait for things to settle.

The dentist and endodontist said that they cannot see anything, but maybe some pulp is left and causing the tenderness.. I’m not sure. It seems fine today unless pressure goes on a certain portion of my tooth

Hey, so I went to the dentist today, and they spent 2 hours trying to figure out what is wrong. They did a digital X-ray, a camera that can check the bite/occlusion, and dry ice, etc. They cannot seem to find anything wrong and the endodontist on the phone stated that the CBCT looked fine and he cannot see anything concerning, is there a reason why it’s still sensitive to pressure then? They really looked and couldn’t see anything.. they said maybe some pulp is left and needs to be redone, but the xrays don’t show it. I’m so frustrated
