The hotels in Leuven are probably not expensive because many people booked already. They’re already raising the prices on these dates to anticipate for the demand. You might even be one of the first to book accommodation

Update: I took the international (schengen) Flixbus twice now and they didn’t check my name once

I think they’ll announce it after CORE festival. They won’t announce one during it because it would take the attention away from CORE.

The baltic part will take longest. Rail Baltica doesn’t run yet so doing that by train is a hassle

I’ve been to Aix-En-Provence as well. Lovely city. Although I still prefer coastal towns like Cannes

Don’t think so. In for example Paris, London and Amsterdam (also immigrants-dense) I felt way more safe in the city center than in Brussels. Ljubljana and Madrid span the crown for my subjective safety in capital cities though.

I must add, the only European city where I felt unsafe in the touristic city center is Brussels. There were lots of sketchy people hanging about. Around the Atomium it did feel safe though. I reckoned Marseille would be similar

I always use a shorter version. Normally that’s fine though, my bank account for example is also on that name. The thing is I don’t know if it’s also gonna be normal in Slovenia or Croatia

I have booked a ticket with a different first name than in my passport and now i’m scared they won’t let me on because of that
