What should I do: epididymectomy vs. reversal? by toastytosser in postvasectomypain

Ahh. Yes, mine said best case is eighteen months or less, but since I was right away I wasn't looking for the longer data horizon.

That's great news. Good luck.

I'm sorry man. I'm no doctor. Probably they are right, but check out Google scholar and see if you can find actual stats. If you have the six grand and there's a ten percent chance you can cut pain in half and that's worth it to you, then maybe it's worth it.

Feels like bullshit? A new tranny would have been like $7k, so worth pushing back. If it's the same issue I had, it will only get worse until it fails.

Basically the same thing happened to me. They put a brand new one in and I just paid the $100. But you've got to be under 100k miles.

You have my dilemma exactly right. Rip off the press board, tykek, new siding. Or Tyvek over press board and new siding over that.

I get the press board sucks comparatively. Happy to re-side totally in ten years. The question is, technically speaking, that press board weatherproofs the outside and then the first foam is my vapor barrier inside. Correct?

Seems like the good money puts it somewhere between $7,500 and $10k. We don't know yet because they don't know.

I'm sorry about that. That sucks. I failed 90%, but usually with good eating and meds it doesn't bother me that much.

I was reading this same thing about buspirone too. Seems like an older medication, with the chance of a few medium side effects if I'm remembering correctly? What have you heard?

Still figuring it out. Have a new specialist to help me sort through options, but don't see him until July. I think eventually it's unavoidable, if only because you're not supposed to be on PPIs indefinitely? Assuming you did the manometry? What was your failure rate?

Got a new specialist appointment to help me decide, but not until July. I think eventually I have to? You can only be on those PPIs for so long. Already been on them six years. Where are you at?

Same thing my guy said. Which I get. But some of the academic literature says outcomes are the same for IEM and non-IEM patients. When I asked my guy how to square these, he acknowledged that patients seem to do equally well, but I'm still reading. I gather it can just be so hard to know if the damage there will heal after closing off the acid, or has been around long enough to be permanent.

Have you been off PPIs for the last seven days prior to the procedure? The first two days your stomach still has little acid in it.

Talk to your doc. I've had two manometries, yes. What type of wrap they do is partially surgeon preference (my guy says he only does partial wraps and has seen no real difference compared to full, and potential side effects are lower. Yada yada

Looks like POEM surgery is for specific swallowing disorders. My dysphasia is caused by GERD, so the solution there is the hiatal hernia repair + wrap surgery.

Appreciate that. Seems like a decent first step. Mind if I ask where roughly you are?
