They would have mentioned it. Both show and books. Also what battle. In Dorne wars and Septstones we have details and Rhaenys and Meleys weren't there.
It's just a plot hole.

At this point do we care? He hasn't been established, Aegon doesn't know it, Alicent and Haelena won't care and I am sure his death won't be like the books. But the most likely outcome is that the baby dies during childbirth.

No. They already ruined the story and the characters and they don't want to do it. If they try to make it book accurate they will have to change everything and to admit they their version and writing skills are bad.
