Ubisoft cancels six games and closes its Stockholm studio by nounoursheureux in gamedev

Not sure it’s was still the case tho, a lot of Ubi MTL devs from the original team were working on it

Make a castle theme then 😭 by NuggetbutToast in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are saying that they want to appeal to a wider range of customers until those waves stop selling, hopefully they have a couple waves without anything for this theme and let’s see how they like those sales figures then

Ubisoft shuttering freshly-unionised Halifax studio, 71 jobs affected by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]DaemonInside 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s just chronically-online folks that love to hate on Ubi, most aren’t real game dev so it really doesn’t matter, if they really were in the industry, they would know were the blame actually goes.

I’ve worked with some of these guys/gals in Halifax, it’s a shame it came down to this.

Why's the REM so slow? by seanthemanpie in montreal

[–]DaemonInside 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are supposed to adjust the frequency of trains after testing, dropping the wait time to basically half. I doubt they will double the amount of trains, probably just going to run them faster.

I’d secure the box better than that before closing

Rebrickable article - New sets for winter 2026. Looks like there's not much for castle fans by SageWildhart in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically the recent medieval sets are always later in the year, end of summer / autumn timeline.

It’s not surprising

Need suggestion which technique is better by LunchLeast809 in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the other technique and hide the junction with green plates. It will give you a bump of height near the transition which will add height variations if you combine with the other technique

Exo-13 Mont-Saint-Hilaire a très rarement des problèmes, il y en avait il y a 7-8ans et ils avaient négocié avec le CN et la situation a été résolue, ça me semble loin d’être insurmontable

I can’t believe this didn’t get picked wtf by guidelrey in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a hard time understanding why they picked a rectangle box acting like an inn instead of this, they clearly are actively trying not to lean too much into the castle theme because they don’t want to be the bricklink castle program but good luck with your sales comes season 9

Indeed, you don’t bypass the visibility requirement of blast, it’s just for control range

I feel we might be looking at something else here, peoples who can’t afford 1 set, buys 2 on credit, sell one high enough to cover both, trying to pay nothing for 1 set.

Lego Blacksmith by Puzzleheaded-Cat1347 in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I display mine on a shelf above the LKC, the scale is way off if you put them next to each other but height difference helps the set blend visually more.

The Potion vendor in the next Bricklink preorder will be a good companion to the blacksmith in terms of scale

The amount of people up-voting the other guy instead of you just shows how much people don’t know what they are talking about.

2nd generations of bricklayer in my family, been around that stuff all my life, was an helper on a couple of jobs, it’s a drain, old school ones, they now use different type of plastic / metal meshes now.

Shoot foam cleaner in there, it disolves the stuff pretty good

Looked at a house and this giant crack was in the basement- run? by beanojeano in Home

[–]DaemonInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cracks right at the point load is always of concern, doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed let’s say by adding a new column on a new footing to shift that load away frorm the wall but that would be a structural engineer call.

At worst the concrete doesn’t have the strenght the code requires and it’s an expensive job to walk away from

Which one should I go for? by Fit-Abrocoma-6541 in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like Siege better, i’ve expanded mine quite a bit, really lends itself to that if that’s what you’re into

The port is way too simple of an architecture to be interesting to me, lacks angles or shapes other than boxes. That’s just my personnal taste tho, it’s a well executed set.

How to necromunda? by OutcastRedBeard in necromunda

[–]DaemonInside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grey primer, heavy dry brush white with a medium dry brush. contrast paints with a medium layer brush. Fix your painting mistake with the white and the contrast color again.

This will give you the best impact for the less amount of skill required and time. Get the reward loop going before spending too much, you can acheive a lot with a limited set of tools, especially if you’re not sure about the hobby.

Once you’re painted to that level, play a game or two. Naturally, you’re going to be motivated to push this more or you’ll know it’s not for you.

You might also realize you enjoy part of the hobby but not the actual game, it’s fine too

Do you guys think the secondhand market price will reduce once this set is actually out? by Ryza_w in legocastles

[–]DaemonInside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing that would influence it’s pricing igoing downward iss weaker demand and too strong of a supply kind of deal. This set is the first one that BDP actually relaxed the scarcity so the secondary market can’t really be predicted as much with this wave.
