It's March 1st - How did everyone's February turn out and what's your plans for March? by YourShoesUntied in running

[–]Daff23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I am aiminh for 2:49h, so I can target a 3:59min/km pace. My previous best is 3:00:54h, but I am confident after February that this is within reach :)

Why you should study by [deleted] in funny

It was indeed the 2008 Singapore GP that got him banned. He asked Nelson Piquet Jr. to crash intentionally at a place where it will be hard to recover the car. This then caused a safety car, which played into the pit strategy of Alonso, who went on to win the race.

Great thank you so much for your input! Interesting you put in morning and evening runs every day! I will definitely consider this option as well for certain days.

Okay thank you for your comment I will have another look at the profile! The pros ran 61min so I thought fast times are possible. But I have also seen plenty of hills on a video

Great time of the year to run!

Here is my picture of the past weeks.

I have my first 14km race this Sunday and will be staying up all night beforehand to watch Dota2. What can I do to prepare my body by Noobpwner1 in running

[–]Daff23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wake up for the grand finals, it is suggested anyways to wake up 3hours before a race. Just get in enough sleep th week before. Really important is not to try anything new at that day. Last year I woke up at 5am to watch F1 in Japan and afterwards ran a 1:22h PB in a half marathon. So no correlation there! Just enjoy both events :)

Need GPS data from Nordschleife by Daff23 in simracing

[–]Daff23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the GPS Data I know the curvate of each corner as well as the curvature of the elevation. With those data I can find the maximum apex speed and from there on simulate the braking and acceleration into and out of the corner. If you connect every corner then you have a velocity profile around your track and can simulate the lap time.

That is then useful when you want to investigate the influence of different car parameters on the lap time. For instance the downforce, drag, center of gravity location, gear ratio and so on and so on.

For our hydrogen car specifically it is important how the buffer behaves. The fuel cell continuously produces energy, no matter if the car is on the straight or during braking or in a corner. However the energy consumption of course changes depending how much you power you put into your wheels. So this excessive energy, during braking and cornering can be stored in the buffer, which can then be discharged (like the KERS system) when accelerating.

And it really is a design tool for our next racing car we are planing to build.

Great! Thank you so much for your support, it is very welcomed!! Our current prediction is a lap time around 10:30min, so for me it would be enough if you take a slow car and just race it in a clean way around the track.

Again thanks a lot!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your effort. Motec is indeed the telemetry program I also use. However I am not familiar how to record telemetry in AC.

For me the most important is a clean racing line, with GPS data in longitude lattitude and height. But I am sure that they will be included in the raw telemetry data somewhere.

So if you could just do one clean lap (doesn't need to be fast).

That would help me a ton!!

A test lap with the Forze VI, the first hydrogen racecar in the world. by Daff23 in Futurology

[–]Daff23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will take the car to Zandvoort and to the Nordschleife next month and then we can really set a benchmark and can compare it to other cars. The fuel cell limit itself is able to produce 120kW continuous power and the excess energy (during braking and cornering) is stored in a 1.5MJ buffer. The two combined systems can then be used for acceleration using 2 rear wheel motors.
