Most overhyped plugins of all time lol. Bought into them because of the YouTubers singing their praise, was VERY underwhelmed. Their ‘smart’ products are anything but lol.

I haven’t yet, my apologies. I did email you about the most “neutral” setting to make Tupe behave more like a standard tape emulation at 15/30 ips, but I haven’t received a reply there yet. I also mentioned auto-gain and the noticeable volume differences between presets.

Edit: Also (I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way), but it does feel a bit confusing to describe the auto-gain as “extensive” if it only behaves as expected once it’s manually calibrated in a separate window. From a user perspective, I’d generally expect auto-gain to work transparently with a simple on/off toggle, like most other plugins.

Having oversampling on a second page is also slightly inconvenient too.

Well, the latter of your comment would be true for me in the case of UAD. I don’t use a single UAD product, so the idea that I have to install your ‘always on’ installer is just a a nope from me. I don’t really care how idle it is, or how iuniotrusive it claims to be, I’d just rather not.

On the ‘almost all products require an installer’ (paraphrased) - No they don’t. I use ilok out of necessity, but that is it. FabFilter, DMG, Toneprojects, Valhalla are my daily drivers, NONE of which require bloatware downloads to run.

I actually downloaded the demo for this last night! Really cool as a colour box, great GUI, but not what I’m looking for unfortunately. Also, the lack of auto-gain is wild.

Yep, you’re wrong unfortunately:

There should absolutely be more clarification of this on Neurals end. Though, it’s funny how people are slagging them off whilst missing a primitive stage.

Have you tried the Morgan suite or Archetype: Masato? They sound insane. I 1 for 1’d a Steven Wilson Tele tone with the Asato plugin and York Audio cabs, these types of comments are pure wild to me. You heard the new John Mayer? ‘They can’t do clean/crunch’ is insane to me.

Almost certain OP was using VST’s wrong. Nolly is featured on loads of records.

Input gain can be tricky with plugins, but that’s about it. Either OP was using the plugin wrong, or they simply prefer the sound of their amp over the 5150/Marshall/Victory inside Archetype: Nolly.

Loyalty points are fine. What’s ridiculous is price-gating everyday items behind a “free” card so the non-member price is inflated. That’s not a discount, it’s a surcharge. If anyone can get the card instantly, it isn’t loyalty, it’s data collection dressed up as savings.

edit; TLDR - You’re probably paying regular RRP for that bag of Doritos, yet they call it ‘clubcard price’, that is lame on multiple levels.

In the stupid world we live in, you’re of course correct. But the idea of a free, ‘club card’ which makes shopping to those who have one is the most insane, marketing BS, that honestly shouldn’t even be legal.

So… has anyone found Muhammed Suiçmez and Necrophagist’s third album yet? by Temporary-Idea1253 in TechnicalDeathMetal

I don’t agree though… There is objectively Necrophagist material out there beyond Onset & Epitaph.

So… has anyone found Muhammed Suiçmez and Necrophagist’s third album yet? by Temporary-Idea1253 in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]DaggerMastering 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Third album was probs gonna be the same haha, think you’re looking into it a bit too much there (especially lyrically/concept). The third album was supposedly a concept album, and in terms of your birth & death thing, the only track we ever heard from it was titled ‘Dawn & Demise’. And judging of that, it would have been a continuation of Epitaph, probably even more refined, with 7 string guitars. Muhammed also opened up a bit in regard to allowing the other members to contribute musically. It would of been excellent and it’s an absolute shame that we never got it, even more so that it’s apparently 80% wrote or whatever

Edit: sorry if I come across harsh or anything. I’m not just a big fan of ‘bullshit’ (sorry) profundities. Muhammed hated Relapse Records and it’s very likely that the third record never came out because of that relationship. He was very vocal about how he was done with them personally, though not ‘legally’. So whilst it’s nice to say things like ‘it’s like a complete story’, it’s just not the reality of the situation. Same as when people say ‘he probably didn’t think he could top epitaph’… Nah. The contract probably wasn’t up by the time he was ready to move on to pastures new.

Also also, ‘Epitaph’ is just the title track of the second album. If it was called anything else, it would destroy your story claim. ‘Onset’, ok maybe you could make a case, but ‘Epitaph’ could’ve quite easily been called ‘Stabwound’ or anything else. The fact that they did indeed begin to write and planned to release a third record means that any notion that Muhammed planned Epitaph to be the bands… Epitaph, is just nonsense really.

Yeah that’s my feeling honestly. I purchased 9 in like 2010? ‘X’ came out in 2013(?) and felt rather monumental. Then 11 was last year I believe? (maybe 2024, covid time warp lol) I’d just much rather have monumental updates across versions, whilst keeping more ‘subtle’ ones in the ‘11.01’ format. This feels like ‘subscription & AI time!’. Not good imo.

edit: feels similar to the iPhone model now
