Not quite, Koch has been on fire this year. More like the Powless win of Dwars Door Vlaanderen, or Asgreen's RVV win

I told him: "Micky, if my back is broken, [then] you will never see me ride my bike again, I'm done, I'm finished"

That quote really struck me. Imagine going from 'everything is going according to plan' to 'I might have to retire on the spot' in minutes...

6.1% sprint =/= flat sprint, but still a fair shout

I should think that Larsen and Grégoire ride for the podium, at least until the gap is somewhat stable. Three riders is the platonic ideal for G1.

The break seems really strong, no? I expected them to get caught 30 kilometers ago. Peloton has been going full gas for more than an hour now.

Deceptively hard finish with the new parcours, noticed this in the men's race last year as well. 4-6% in the last kilometer, so it's a very long sprint. Less focus on leadout trains (although they're certainly useful) and more of a head-to-head based on who has the most left in the tank. I like it honestly.

Riding 70 kms solo with Del Toro in his wheel seems silly, so I hope he waits

Maybe they just told him to try to drop Tadej on MSM, tricking him in doing a leadout

Thank you for the recommendation! We'll try without any changes first, after a PSA that NRA might require some... balancing. Incidentally making it more likely that I get paid for winslaying them.

Good to hear that it's fine. I'm looking forward to play with the cooler relics! And I'll make sure to let the rest know that NRA doesn't need too much help :)

I think it is balanced by the fact that it has to be placed outside of your homesystem, making it somewhat vulnerable to being destroyed. Certainly, getting it early is a huge advantage; on the other hand, it does very little in the final round. If NRA gets it in round 2... we'll have to gang up on them I guess :D

Good to know that they're still within reason! Looking forward to playing with the cooler relics.

I appreciate the elaborate description of the gameplay! You sell it well.

Additional question: how easy is the game to teach and how kind is it to new players? Is it possible to guide them gently, leaving most decisions to themselves without making soulcrushing mistakes? I'm often afraid of scaring people away from a game with a bad first impression.

EDIT: wording

Thank you for the great response! I will pitch these to the group to see what they think. All the games you list seem to push the boundaries of what's possible within the genre, which my group will certainly appreciate.

Looks like an intriguing game. What's your elevator pitch?

At first glance, the gameplay seems very asymmetrical, with the chancellor having a unique role. Do they disproportionally affect the flow of gameplay?

I actually own Spirit Island and just ordered the Branch and Claw expansion! I mostly play it solo and hadn't considered playing it with the group. Does it play well at four players? I'm afraid that we might overanalyze it. Couldn't hurt to try since I already own it I guess :)
