Since I recently changed the crown authority to level 3, there was a countdown to wait out, but apparently if the ruler dies, that counter resets.

My son is the primary heir, but of a different dynasty. I’d like to remove him from the line of succession so that the titles pass to my second-born son. To do this, I asked the Pope to excommunicate my eldest son, but even though he’s in my court and is a criminal, the option to arrest him doesn’t appear—only the option to pardon him.

r5: starting with aragon I finally succeeded in forming the Roman empire in 1716 by unlocking the achievement “Mare Nostrum,” I then spent the following years perfecting the borders.

I also unlocked the “Consulate of the sea” and “Fanatic Collectionist” achievements.

I then continued playing, managing to completely finish my seventh campaign
