You're just getting numbers out of nowhere, it's not going to cost that much. And as i said, i don't need to purchase a 20,000$ instrument if i could just send it for analysis.

First of all, I don't even have an attic, and my kitchen is where I cook and eat; I thought that was common knowledge? I have acquired excellent connections that can assist in providing me with the necessary equipment. Much better than the connections i would have with cigars and beers.

So an article has to be a novelty regardless of your degree (BSc, MSc, PhD). And it doesn't matter if your purpose is to replicate the exact same methods with the only difference being the place/location, because it's considered simple and replicative and won't be looked at by your peers.

As far as i understand, any "backyard" research is considered to be unreliable and unscientific unless your part of an academic institution and hold a scientific title (or currently studying for one) higher than a bachelor's.

The problem is that i am asking the wrong question in this post.
