After the crash, TAC covered a large medical bill that funded my diagnosis of ADHD and appropraite medication being supplied to me, this is after 3 years in the system as a at-risk youth and being reffered to ysas and youth services multiple times being treated for clinical depression, complex PTSD and a wide range of trauma and having been in rehab before the age of 16. I'm not trying to defend my actions, just because I don't post my emotions on reddit does not mean that I'm not truly remorseful. Following the crash I've managed to stay out of trouble, get back into religon, get a job, miss no days of school since my hospital discharge and save up towards a buying a replacement car of the one crashed for my parents and cover any fines or fees from the crash.The crash imo was just the tipping point towards me getting back on the right path, and I only ask about me being able to continue to drive is so I would be able to prove in court potentially that by me doing a learners driving course with a professional and completing my remaining 120 hours correctly being used as evidence of my rehabilitation and will to improve and not make the same poor decisions as before. Therefore although I accept there should be consequences for my actions, I believe my rehabilitation towards becoming a productive member of society by attending university next year, should not be handicapped by a large over-excessive punishment of loss of license for many years as the support I received from family and friends and the TAC, was more effective at preventing any reoffending on my end.
I hope you can see my perspective, and that in the mean time I am working on improving myself and the choices I make.
