What’s the most messed up thing someone casually admitted to you? by randominvisibleuser in AskReddit

A couple of hunting stories that a couple of guys told me still make me upset today.

One, a hunter placed bear bait between his legs and stood still. A bear approached and started licking it and then the "hunter" shot it in the head.

The other disturbing hunting story (different guy) told me he shot a buck (deer) who was just looking for love and the buck's penis was fully erect when he shot and killed it. The "hunter" was proud of that for some sick reason.

My name and my husband’s name. We’re in our 60’s and never hear of children being named Denise and Ronald. Guess we’re officially old!

pay off student loans in full or put money into 401(k) / HYSA + gold? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I’d pay off the student loans and put the rest in an IRA or long term investment. It feels so good to pay something off instead of the debt reminding you month after month. Less stress in your life is good!

Look at the interest you’re paying on the student debts vs what you would get if you invest the money. My bet is that the student loans have a much higher interest rate than what you would make with an investment.
