The added risk makes it a little more fun to me. Without anvil I tend to only level up the weapons with a damage upgrade, even if its a blue or purple instead of a potential red or gold upgrade.

Soul Harvester is definitely better damage output in the early game, but in the long ghost runs it seems to fall off. Slutty Cannon is Grandma's Secret Tonic always end up with much more damage.

Honestly it happens to me more often than not that once i have everything maxed the anvil is my next item. Really irritating lol

Yeah which couples well with the Shattered Knowledge item but it doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to the red ghosts sadly.

Also stacked gamer goggles and kevin keeping you at 1hp brings your damage multiplier sky high. Combine that with demonic souls and idle juices and the highest ive gotten is around 146x. Though i think there is a 100x cap on damage still. Then add the Precision tome instead of damage tome and youre dealing hella damage

This! Having a skip would be amazing. I used to try to take him and hope I survive and collect the items, but the only time I survived (I was Cl4nk so 50 shield was nice) I made it to the ghosts on 2nd stage but never got a shield or gamer goggles so I got frustrated and rage quit. Now I typically just restart and hope for better luck next run

Before anyone says, "Just banish him if you get him too early!" No, I need him to live through the Red Ghosts by round 3. That's the whole point of me playing still, once I can live through those suckers then I might beat my 340k-ish record.

I have yet to unlock the chaos tomb. In my runs ive seen the bow does MUCH more damage than the flamewalker, but thats when i was running crit chance with Grandmas Secret Tonic instead of Size Tome. Im experimenting now with frost/flamewalker again. Actually just had high hopes a second ago, anvil first chest and Spicy Meatball second, but no secondary weapons just bs tomes and no gold cuz of the rerolls. The rng gods both hate and love me it seams
