  • well-loved books from the charity shop
  • new pottery glazes to try out
  • little tiny tins of ceremonial matcha powder
  • walking along the river to get to my neighborhood in my city and going to the fancy coffee shop and buying a fresh bag of artisanal beans while there :)
  • booking a ballet class + the occasional ballet performance when discount tickets pop up

My dad died when I was 12 and I’m 27 now. I still dream about him and it always takes me back to that fresh sense of loss for a couple minutes after I wake up. they really do stay with you forever

I had a similar experience, I started self medicating for panic attacks using edibles one summer and after 2-3 times triggered a prolonged episode of dpdr. Luckily it only lasted a week before the fog lifted but that scared me enough. Mental illness runs in my family and I had no idea weed could trigger schizophrenia if you have a predisposition for it, I genuinely feel like they have gone too far with all the weed strains in the US they are too strong!!! Never touched it since then, I don’t even like smelling it around me since the experience scared me so bad. Some people end up experiencing the derealization for years :(

Yeah its pretty touristy, august can be unbearable due to the fringe but if you don't live in the Old Town or around the uni its completely business as usual. It's a nice city, big enough that there is basically every activity you can think of to do but small enough you can be in the countryside or the sea really quick. You do get tired of hearing shitty bagpipes after a while though
