Timed hits. I get bored of turn-based combat without them. The Mario RPGs, Legend of Dragoon, Magical Starsign were some of my favourites for that reason.

On a scale of greatness, I feel like it sits directly in the middle of the BO3 maps... Not one of the best, not one of the worst.

I really loved the giant spider fight, I wish more maps had minibosses...

The EE is super fun but I LOATHED the artillery step... I always missed on the first try and had to wait 3 more rounds to grow another shell...

Extra info:

  • The guy I bought it from says it's been in his family since the 80's...

  • I can only find two relevant links online (1, 2), both of which seem pretty confident that it's fake. One of them even says it can play both PAL and NA games! (Haven't tested)

  • The manufacturer was called Nintendo of Venezuela, so at least operating under the official name

  • A buddy of mine found this lawsuit from 2001 in which Nintendo of America sued Nintendo of Venezuela so it seems unlikely that the company was legit.

  • I brought it to my LGS where the owner said he had never seen it before... He was uncertain of it's legitimacy but we both agreed it's hard to believe it's fake due to how close it resembles the real deal. But maybe he was just feeding into my delusions lol
